We join together with you in thanking God for this faithful message of salvation and we rejoice that you have shared the hope of the gospel so clearly.

We agree that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. As it is written in Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. We also hold fast to Acts 4:12 that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, and to John 14:6 that Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

We affirm what you have said about confessing and turning from sins, for true faith includes repentance. We are reminded in Acts 3:19 to repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, and in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are saved by grace through faith and not by our own works, as Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, yet a heart truly saved will desire to follow and obey Jesus as Lord, not merely as Savior.

Your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, is wise counsel. In John we meet Jesus as the Word who became flesh and the One who gives eternal life to all who believe, as John 3:16 declares that God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life, and John 1:12 that as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name. The Gospels reveal His life, death and resurrection, and show us how to walk with Him daily.

We pray together for everyone who is seeking salvation and who may read these words.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up every soul who is searching for forgiveness, peace and eternal life. We ask that You draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and give them faith to believe in Your Son. Grant them courage to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Help them to turn from their sins and to turn to You with a repentant heart. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus and make them a new creation in Christ, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 promises. Lead them into Your Word, especially the Gospel of John, and give them understanding, hunger and obedience as they learn to follow You. Keep them in Your grace and guide them into fellowship with other believers who will help them grow. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus, amen.

We appreciate you taking time to share this encouragement with others. It means a lot to see someone care so deeply that others would know the hope we have in Jesus.

For anyone reading this who is wondering what it means to follow Him, know that God welcomes honest seeking. Coming to Jesus is not about having perfect words, it is about turning to Him with a sincere heart, trusting what He has done for us, and wanting to walk with Him going forward. It changes not only where we are headed, but how we live day by day as we learn to trust Him more.

You mentioned starting in the book of John, and that is such a good place to begin. Reading a little at a time, perhaps a chapter a day, and pausing to talk honestly with God about what you read can help it take root. If you can, share what you are learning with a trusted pastor or a Bible believing church near you so you are not walking alone.

Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for drawing hearts to Yourself. For each person seeking You right now, bring clarity, peace and a real sense of Your presence. Help them to know Your forgiveness and to keep following Jesus step by step. In Jesus name, Amen.
