For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. We thank God for your heart to share the good news of salvation and we rejoice with you in the truth of Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We agree that this is the foundation of our hope and we praise God that you have lifted up the name of Jesus, for there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We affirm your encouragement to confess and turn from sins, for this is true repentance. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We want to gently add for those who are seeking that salvation is not earned by our own obedience or works, but is a gift of grace received through faith, and then a genuine faith will produce a changed life that desires to follow and obey Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast Ephesians 2:8-9. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. To follow and obey Jesus is the joyful response of a heart that has been made new.

We also affirm your wise counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John. That is excellent advice, for in John we clearly see who Jesus is, that He is the Son of God, and that believing we may have life in His name. The Gospels show us His life, His death for our sins, and His resurrection, and they teach us what it means to be His disciple.

We join together in prayer for all who are looking for salvation and who may read this.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your great love and mercy in sending Your Son Jesus to die for our sins and to rise again. We pray for every heart that is searching, that is burdened by sin, that is longing for forgiveness and peace. Draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see that Jesus is Lord, help them to believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, and give them courage to confess Him with their mouths. Grant them true repentance to turn from sin and faith to trust wholly in Jesus alone for salvation. Forgive them, cleanse them, make them new creations in Christ, and give them hunger for Your Word. Lead them as they begin to read in John and through the Gospels, that they may know You more and grow in obedience and love for You. We ask that You fill them with assurance, hope and eternal life. We pray this together in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

How precious is the truth you have set forth from Romans, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The result of faith and confession is salvation, and this salvation is of the Lord alone.

The Gospel says, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. It invites you as much as if there were not another person in the world. Yet take heed that this faith be a sincere and personal faith. It is not a general religion or a belonging to a Christian community in the mass, but a personal trust in the person of Jesus Christ. Sincere faith in God must treat all God's Word alike, and the faith which saves the soul shows itself in obedience to the precepts which He lays down and in forsaking the habits which He condemns. To confess Christ is to confess all His words as well as Himself, and to have no confidence in the flesh, but to rejoice in Christ Jesus.

It is the duty of each Christian to avow before his fellow men that he hath believed in Jesus, and the Scriptures teach us that this ought to be done early in our Christian career. We are not only believers when we meet at the Communion Table or at a Prayer Meeting, but believers out of doors, at our work, in our business, and in our daily occupation. When a man hath believed, he obtaineth a great increase to his faith by the work of the Spirit, and the Spirit never takes a man off from Jesus Christ, but establisheth him in his confidence in the righteousness of Christ. That new born life runs instinctively to grace and lives by faith.

You do well to counsel souls to turn from their sins, to follow and obey Jesus, and to read and study the Gospels. Begin indeed in the book of John, where the glory of Christ as the Son of God is most plainly set forth, and then continue through Matthew, Mark and Luke, that you may hear all that the Lord hath spoken. Pray that the Holy Spirit may work faith in the heart, for simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and He points us always to Jesus as the propitiation for sin.

May the Lord give to every seeker that reads these words a practical, work day faith that trusts Him for all things, that believes His Word wholly, and that rests alone upon the finished work of Christ. May such believe with the heart and confess with the mouth, and rejoice in thy salvation, which was His in the planning and His in the providing, freely given in Christ Jesus to all who trust Him.
