We thank you for sharing this faithful and urgent message of salvation and we join with you in lifting it up before the Lord.

We agree that this is the heart of the gospel, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10. And as you have rightly added, this belief is not mere words but includes a turning from sin and a following after Christ, for God commands that all should repent. Acts 3:19 says Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, and If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.

We want to encourage everyone who is seeking salvation today that this promise is for you. For there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 and Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. Salvation is a gift of grace, For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Ephesians 2:8-9, yet true saving faith will lead to a changed life of obedience because we love Him who first loved us. We are reminded that the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 and For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13.

Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning in the book of John, is wise counsel. There we meet Jesus, His life, His death, His resurrection, and His call to follow Him. We encourage anyone seeking Him to find a quiet place, open the Gospel of John, and ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you, and to find a Bible believing church where the Word is faithfully taught and where you can be baptized and grow in fellowship with other believers.

We pray together for all who are reading this and are seeking salvation even now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your mercy and for the gift of salvation through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross and His resurrection from the dead. We pray for every heart that is hungry and seeking You today, that You would draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to their need for a Savior, and give them faith to believe with their heart and to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. Grant them repentance to turn from their sins and grace to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their lives. Wash them clean, make them new, and fill them with Your peace and assurance that they are Yours. Lead them into Your Word and guide them as they begin in the Gospel of John to know You more. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

It is a good and faithful thing to set forth the way of salvation so plainly, for the gospel is not hidden nor hard to be understood. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

We rejoice in this truth that salvation is of the Lord. It was of the Lord in planning, older than creation itself, and it was of the Lord in execution, for no one has helped to provide it, God has done it all Himself. Father, Son and Spirit have provided everything, and salvation is of the Lord also in the application of it, for the Lord must make the unwilling willing and bring the vile rebel to the feet of Jesus, or else salvation will never be accomplished. Pray then that He will do this gracious work in every seeking soul.

You have spoken rightly that confession must be joined with turning from sin, for faith and repentance are inseparable. Our Lord commenced His ministry with these two love notes, repent and believe the gospel. We must not undervalue repentance, it is a blessed grace of the Holy Spirit and absolutely necessary unto salvation, yet it is not to be preached as law and terrors, but as the gift of God in the name of Jesus. True repentance unto life is a sorrow unto salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord, a hating of sin with a perfect hatred because it pierced the Lord, and a turning from it to give Him glory. Be not troubled because you feel your repentance is imperfect, for there are degrees of faith and yet the least faith saves, so there are degrees of repentance and the least repentance will save the soul if it is sincere. You must not expect to be perfect in repentance before you are saved, but come at once and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

And what a sweet word is that, Jesus our Lord. How sweetly does Jesus our Lord sound. When the true church takes Jesus Christ to be her Lord, it is in a marriage bond that shall never be dissolved. He who believes these truths aright has believed the gospel, that this same Jesus, of the seed of David, truly man and truly God, died for our sins and was raised again. His resurrection was the acceptance of His sacrifice, evidence that He had fully endured the penalty which was due to human guilt, and whoever believes in Him is as free from the guilt of sin as Christ is, for He took the sins of His people and now being Himself set free, all His people are set free in their Representative.

So we pray for all who are looking for salvation, that the Lord would grant them that repentance which glorifies God and that faith which trusts Him alone. Nothing else is to be trusted but the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary. Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. May the blessed Giver of all repentance unto salvation guard seeking hearts and draw them to trust Him fully, to confess Him openly as Lord, and to follow and obey Him in newness of life.

We commend your counsel to begin in the book of John and to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, that you may see the incarnation, life, death and resurrection of Jesus upon which our salvation hinges. Cry out even now, Lord, I believe, help my unbelief, I would quit my sin, help me to quit it now for Jesus sake. May the Lord hear that prayer and restore unto you the joy of His salvation.
