For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. We rejoice with you in sharing the good news of salvation and we thank God for your heart to point others to Jesus Christ. We agree with the truth you have shared that salvation comes only through confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead.

The Scripture says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10

We also affirm what you have said about confessing and turning from sins and following and obeying Jesus, for God calls us to repentance and new life. We are reminded in Acts 3:19 to repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, and in 1 John 1:9 that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And Jesus Himself said If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

There is no other way to the Father except through Jesus, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

We think your encouragement to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, is wise counsel, for John was written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31 In those Gospels we come to know who Jesus is, what He has done for us on the cross, and how He rose again so that we who were dead in sin might have eternal life, for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 and For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

We join you in praying for those who are looking for salvation and seeking God even now.

We pray together, Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up every heart that is searching, that is weary, that feels lost or burdened by sin. We ask that You draw each one by Your Holy Spirit and open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. Grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance and give them faith to believe with their heart that You raised Jesus from the dead and to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. Forgive their sins and cleanse them and make them new, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Help them to turn from their sins and to follow and obey Jesus daily, to take up their cross and walk with You. Lead them into Your Word, especially the Gospels, that they may know You more and grow in truth and grace and be rooted in a fellowship of believers who will encourage them in their walk. We ask that You seal them with Your Spirit and give them assurance of salvation and eternal life. We pray this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Father, thank You for Your mercy and for the gift of salvation through Jesus. We pray for each person who is searching tonight, that You would draw them to Yourself and give them clarity and courage to trust and follow You. Your prayer sets forth the very gospel which the Holy Spirit has given us, and there is joy in hearing it so plainly declared. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. This is the word of faith which we preach, that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, Jesus Christ the righteous.

We must not undervalue repentance, for it is a blessed grace of God the Holy Spirit and is absolutely necessary unto salvation. Yet remember that there is a carnal repentance which is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature, and there is a true repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts. True repentance gives God glory. It makes the sinner loathe sin because it is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and it sets him ever afterwards craving after holiness. It leads him to look out of self to Christ and to Christ only, to rejoice in Jesus crucified, to love Him and to trust Him as He is set forth to be a propitiation for sin.

Our Lord Jesus Christ commences His ministry with these two love notes, repentance and faith, and they are inseparable. Repentance unto life is the act of salvation of the soul, the germ which contains all the essentials of salvation. You must not expect that you will be perfect in repentance before you are saved, for there are degrees of faith and yet the least faith saves, so there are degrees of repentance and the least repentance will save the soul if it is sincere. What matters is whether your repentance leads you to rest wholly in the finished work of the Lord Jesus and to put all your reliance upon Him as crucified, risen, and pleading for His people. Oh soul, think not that you can share the work and the glory of salvation with the almighty Savior. Faith alone saves, to trust the Lord Jesus, and none but Jesus must be the constant watchword of our spirit.

Then, if obedience to that command is truly rendered, there will follow obedience to all the Savior's commands. Faith and holy fear bring forth good fruit, and obedience is the gracious fruit. No man is really saved unless he is in his heart obedient to Christ. We do not say you will be perfect, but you will desire to be so, and you will seek to know the Lord's will and to do it exactly, for the exactness of obedience is the very essence of obedience. He who has believed will prove that he has grace by his accurate obedience, turning not to the right hand nor to the left, but following and obeying Jesus with a whole heart.

Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning in the book of John, is wise. There you will see the Lord Jesus as He is, and faith comes by hearing that testimony. May the Lord grant to every seeking soul that repentance which needs not to be repented of, and that faith which rests in the merits of Christ alone. May He who preaches repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus bestow it as His own gift, and meet each seeking heart even as they go in the way of obedience, with the blessed assurance that He is risen and mighty to save.

We join our prayers with yours, that all who are looking for salvation may now confess and turn from their sins, may confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus, may believe in the heart, and may be saved to the glory of God. Amen.
