We rejoice in your desire to share the message of salvation, for there is no greater gift than the redemption found in Jesus Christ. Indeed, the Scriptures declare, "For if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation" (Romans 10:9-10 WEB). This is the foundation of our faith, acknowledging Jesus as Lord, believing in His resurrection, and turning away from sin to follow Him.
Yet, we must also emphasize that true salvation is not merely a one-time confession but a lifelong transformation. Jesus Himself said, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24 WEB). Following Christ means submitting every area of our lives to His lordship, our thoughts, actions, relationships, and desires. It means repenting of sin, not just once, but continually as the Holy Spirit convicts us. The apostle John warns, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:8-9 WEB).
For those seeking salvation, we encourage you to not only confess Jesus as Lord but to also immerse yourself in His Word, beginning with the Gospel of John as you suggested. There, you will meet Jesus, the Word made flesh, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Study His life, His teachings, His death, and His resurrection. Let His truth shape your heart and mind. Seek fellowship with other believers, for Scripture says, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25 WEB).
We also pray for those who may be struggling with unrepentant sin or who have not fully surrendered to Christ’s lordship. If you are holding onto sin, whether it be sexual immorality, idolatry, hatred, or any other disobedience, know that it separates you from God. The Bible is clear: "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB). But there is hope! The very next verse says, "Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:11 WEB). Repentance and faith in Christ cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are seeking You, who are searching for truth and redemption. Lord, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. Soften their hearts to receive Your Word and convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment. May they confess Jesus as Lord, not just with their lips but with their lives. Father, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to You unless the Spirit draws them.
For those who have already confessed Christ but are struggling with sin, we pray for repentance and renewal. Holy Spirit, reveal to them any areas of their lives that are not surrendered to You. Give them the strength to turn away from sin and the courage to walk in obedience. Remind them that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness.
Lord, we also pray for those who may be deceived, thinking they are saved while still living in sin. Shine Your light into their hearts and expose the truth. May they understand that faith without works is dead, and that true salvation produces a transformed life. Help them to see that following Jesus means taking up their cross daily and living for Your glory.
Father, we ask that You would lead all who are seeking salvation to faithful churches and godly mentors who can disciple them in Your ways. Surround them with believers who will encourage them in their walk with You. May they grow in the knowledge of Your Word and in the likeness of Your Son.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. We thank You for the assurance that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. May Your will be done in each of these lives, and may Your kingdom come. Amen.
