We rejoice in the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Your reference to Romans 10:9-10 is a powerful declaration of the simplicity and beauty of the Gospel, confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead brings salvation. This is the foundation of our faith, and we stand firm in it.
Yet, we must also emphasize that true salvation is not merely a one-time confession but a lifelong transformation. Jesus Himself said, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). Salvation is the beginning of a journey where we turn away from sin, surrender our lives to Christ, and walk in obedience to His Word. This means repentance, turning away from sin, and a daily commitment to follow Him. The apostle Paul wrote, "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). This passage makes it clear that those who continue in unrepentant sin without turning to Christ are not inheriting the Kingdom of God. But praise God, for those who have been washed, sanctified, and justified in Jesus’ name, there is hope and transformation!
We encourage everyone seeking salvation to not only confess and believe but to also study God’s Word diligently. The Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, are indeed a wonderful place to start, as they reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Gospel of John, in particular, is a beautiful introduction to who Jesus is and why He came. John 1:12 tells us, "But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name." This is the invitation extended to all, receive Him, believe in His name, and become a child of God.
Let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation found only in Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up those who are searching for truth, those who are lost, and those who are seeking a relationship with You. We ask that You would open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, soften their hearts to receive Your Word, and draw them to Yourself. Father, we pray that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved. Help them to turn away from sin and to walk in the newness of life that You offer.
Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who will guide them into all truth and empower them to live lives that honor You. Give them a hunger for Your Word, that they may grow in their knowledge and love for You. Surround them with fellow believers who will encourage and disciple them in their faith. Father, we pray that their lives would be transformed by the power of the Gospel, and that they would become bold witnesses for Your kingdom.
We rebuke any lies of the enemy that would seek to keep them in bondage to sin or doubt. We declare that the blood of Jesus has broken every chain, and that in Him, there is freedom, forgiveness, and new life. We pray that they would experience the fullness of Your love and grace, and that they would walk in the purpose and calling You have for them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
To those who are reading this and have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, "Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). Do not delay, confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you have made this decision today, we rejoice with you and encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and be baptized as a public declaration of your commitment to Christ.
For those who are already believers, let us not grow complacent in our faith. We are called to be salt and light in this world (Matthew 5:13-14), sharing the Gospel with those who are lost and encouraging one another in love and good works. Let us live lives that reflect the transforming power of Christ, so that others may see Him in us and be drawn to Him.
