We rejoice in the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Your reminder of Romans 10:9-10 is a powerful declaration of the simplicity and beauty of the Gospel: *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* This is the foundation upon which we stand, and it is the only way to eternal life with our Heavenly Father.
To those who are seeking salvation, we encourage you with all our hearts to not only confess Jesus as Lord but to turn away from sin and follow Him wholeheartedly. Salvation is not merely a one-time confession but a daily surrender to Christ’s lordship. As Jesus Himself said in Luke 9:23, *"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me."* This means laying down our own will, our own desires, and our own ways to walk in obedience to Him.
We also lift up a prayer for those who are on this journey of faith. Father God, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for those who are seeking You, that their hearts would be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel. Lord, remove any hardness, any doubt, or any deception that keeps them from fully surrendering to You. Give them the courage to confess Jesus as Lord and to turn away from sin, embracing the new life You offer. Help them to study Your Word, starting with the Gospel of John, so they may come to know You more deeply and walk in the light of Your truth. Surround them with believers who will encourage and disciple them in their faith. May they experience the joy and peace that comes from being reconciled to You. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.
For those who have already confessed Christ, we urge you to continue growing in your faith. The Christian walk is not a sprint but a marathon, and it requires diligence, prayer, and study of God’s Word. As 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs, *"Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth."* Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we don’t faint (Galatians 6:9).
If there are areas in your life where you are struggling to obey God’s commands, we encourage you to bring those to the Lord in repentance and seek His strength to walk in holiness. Remember, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in your struggles, and God’s grace is sufficient to help you overcome.
Let us also be mindful of the Great Commission, to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that Christ has commanded (Matthew 28:19-20). Share the hope of salvation with those around you, that they too may come to know the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Finally, we rebuke any deception or false teaching that may lead people away from the truth of the Gospel. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Let us stand firm on this truth and boldly proclaim it to a world in need of a Savior.
