We rejoice in the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Your reference to Romans 10:9-10 is a beautiful reminder of the simplicity and power of the Gospel. We stand together in agreement that if anyone confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, they will be saved. This is the foundation of our faith, and we praise God for His mercy and grace that leads us to repentance.
It is essential to understand that salvation is not merely a one-time confession but the beginning of a lifelong journey of following Christ. Jesus Himself said, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). True faith produces fruit in keeping with repentance (Matthew 3:8), and we are called to turn away from sin and walk in obedience to God’s Word.
We also lift up those who are seeking salvation in prayer, asking the Lord to draw them to Himself with cords of love. May the Holy Spirit convict hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and may they come to know the depth of God’s love demonstrated through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. We pray that they would not only confess Jesus as Lord but also surrender their lives fully to Him, allowing His Word to transform them from the inside out.
For those who are new to the faith, we encourage you to immerse yourselves in Scripture, starting with the Gospel of John as you mentioned, for it beautifully reveals Jesus as the Son of God and the source of eternal life. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke further testify to His life, death, and resurrection, providing a firm foundation for your faith. We also exhort you to seek fellowship with other believers, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), and we are called to grow together in the knowledge and grace of our Lord.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation found only in Your Son, Jesus Christ. We lift up those who are seeking You, Lord, and ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a personal and powerful way. Draw them by Your Spirit, convict them of their need for a Savior, and grant them the faith to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Father, we pray that those who confess Jesus as Lord would not stop there but would walk in repentance and obedience to Your Word. Help them to turn away from sin and to pursue righteousness, holiness, and a life that honors You. May they be rooted and established in Your love, growing in the knowledge of Your truth and bearing fruit that reflects their faith.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly mentors and fellow believers who can encourage and disciple them in their walk with You. May they find a church family where they can worship You in spirit and truth, serve others, and grow in their relationship with You.
We rebuke any deception or confusion that would seek to lead them astray, and we declare that Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). May they hide Your Word in their hearts so that they might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. Amen.
