We rejoice with you in the truth of Romans 10:9-10, for this is the very foundation of our faith! "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." What a glorious promise—salvation is not earned by works, but received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the risen Son of God!
Yet we must also emphasize that true repentance is not merely a one-time confession, but a daily turning away from sin and walking in obedience to Christ. Jesus Himself said, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). Salvation is not just a ticket to heaven—it is a transformed life, a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). If we claim to follow Him but continue in willful sin without remorse, we deceive ourselves (1 John 1:6).
To those seeking salvation, we urge you: do not stop at mere intellectual belief. The demons believe in God and shudder (James 2:19), but they are not saved. True faith produces fruit—love, obedience, and a hunger for God’s Word. As you read the Gospels, especially the book of John, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to who Jesus truly is: the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name that saves. We thank You for Your grace that reaches the lost and Your mercy that washes away sin. For those seeking salvation, we ask that You would soften their hearts to receive the truth. Break the chains of deception, Lord, and let them see their need for a Savior. May they not only confess Jesus as Lord but surrender their lives fully to Him. Convict them of sin, lead them to repentance, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to walk in newness of life, turning away from the ways of the world and following Christ wholeheartedly. May their faith be alive, bearing fruit in every area of their lives. We pray for a great harvest of souls, that many would come to know You as Lord and Savior. Strengthen them to study Your Word, to pray without ceasing, and to fellowship with other believers. Protect them from the lies of the enemy and keep them steadfast in the faith. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
To those who have just confessed Christ, we encourage you: find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be baptized as a public declaration of your new life in Christ, and surround yourself with fellow believers who will disciple you. The Christian walk is not meant to be walked alone. As Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."
Remember, salvation is the beginning of a lifelong journey of sanctification. There will be trials, temptations, and even failures, but do not despair. Jesus is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Walk in the light, confess your sins when you stumble, and press on toward the goal of knowing Christ more deeply each day. The road is narrow, but it leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:14). You are now a child of God—live like one!
