Humble Prayer Partner
I watched a video on YouTube & this preacher, pastor, evangelist guy went & evangelized to the people of ###. I then prayed for those people, as he also has it on Facebook & people in the comments are praying for those people. I've never heard of this place until now & I pray that they get free from their addiction to drugs. There's legit people on the street looking like they're dead, hence why it's called ###, as that's what drugs does to people. So I pray that there's a Christian revival in ### & I pray that Jesus breaks the chains of alcohol, drugs & any other worldly substances that these people go to for fulfilment, as Jesus is the only One that can fulfil us, heal us & break those chains, as He is the chain breaker.

Please join me in praying for these people & if you can, go to ### & evangelize to these people, not in condemnation, but in love, as Jesus would.

Update:
I haven't really thought about this much since, so is that God's way of saying I'm not to go, or is it that He just replaced it with another idea that's more local, easier for me as an introvert (I know some of the people there, but doesn't make it much less scary), somewhere I've been before (as I used to go to school there).

Thank you to anyone who replies or prays for this, God bless you

We lift up the people of in prayer, recognizing the deep bondage of addiction that grips so many in that community. The images you describe, of lives ravaged by drugs and alcohol, are heartbreaking, but we know that nothing is impossible for our God. The chains of addiction are real, but the power of Jesus is greater. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). This is the hope we declare over, that the captives would be set free, the brokenhearted healed, and the blind would see the truth of the Gospel.

We join you in praying for a mighty revival in that place. Revival begins with repentance and a turning to God, and we ask the Holy Spirit to move powerfully, convicting hearts of sin and drawing people to Christ. "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Let this be the cry of our hearts for, that God would heal the land and restore lives.

Your desire to evangelize is commendable, and we encourage you to seek the Lord’s leading in how He would have you participate in this work. It is not by our own strength or boldness that we share the Gospel, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth" (Acts 1:8). If God is calling you to go to or another place, He will equip you and go before you. If He is redirecting you to a more local opportunity, trust that He has a purpose in that as well. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38), and we must be sensitive to where God is sending us.

We also want to gently address the importance of sharing the Gospel in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone can be freed from sin and addiction. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). When we pray or evangelize, we must always point people to Jesus, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for the people of . We ask that You would break the chains of addiction that bind them, chains of drugs, alcohol, and every other substance that leads them away from You. Lord, we pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Spirit in that place, that hearts would be softened, eyes would be opened, and lives would be transformed by the power of the Gospel. Raise up laborers to go into the harvest, and give them boldness and compassion to share Your love with those who are lost.

Father, we ask that You would guide [the person who submitted this request] in how You would have them participate in this work. If You are calling them to go to or another place, give them courage and faith to step out. If You are leading them elsewhere, help them to trust Your plan and to be faithful where You have placed them. Equip them with Your Word and Your Spirit to be a light in the darkness.

Lord, we declare that Jesus is the Chain Breaker, the One who sets the captives free. We pray that every person in would come to know Him as their Savior and Lord, finding true fulfillment and healing in Him alone. May Your name be glorified in that community, and may Your kingdom come.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s direction in this matter. Whether He calls you to go to or to serve in another way, trust that He will use you for His glory. The harvest is ready, and the need is great. May God give you wisdom, boldness, and a heart full of love for the lost.

We’re genuinely moved by the burden you carry for the people of that place. The sight of so many lives consumed by addiction is heartbreaking, and we’re grateful you’ve turned that ache into prayer. Your cry for Jesus to break chains is one we join in fully.

You’re wondering if God silently closed the door on going there, or simply opened one closer to home. Often, a fading sense of urgency isn’t a lack of compassion, it’s the Spirit’s gentle redirect. The local opportunity that’s come to mind, even if it feels intimidating as an introvert, is no small thing. God uses everyday soil. Every believer is an “introducer”, someone who can say, “Let me introduce you to the One who can change your life.” That happens powerfully at a school, a workplace, or a neighborhood coffee shop, not just on a distant street corner.

Maybe this season is less about a dramatic trip and more about deepening your intercession while finding a practical way to support those already laboring in that hard place. Many churches and recovery ministries do the long, plodding work of addiction outreach there, and they need faithful prayer partners, financial support, and letters of encouragement. You could research a Rescue Mission or a church in that area and commit to holding them before the Lord regularly. That kind of quiet, faithful partnership is just as vital as walking the streets yourself, and it fits an introvert’s wiring perfectly.

Lord Jesus, raise up a powerful work in the hearts of those trapped in addiction. Break every chain, restore health, and pour out your hope. For our friend, grant clarity and peace. If this local door is truly from you, give courage to step through it. And if you’re calling for sustained, behind-the-scenes prayer, we embrace that with joy. In your name, Amen.

It is a blessed thing when the Lord lays a burden upon the heart for perishing souls, even in a place whose very name tells of death’s cruel reign. Your prayer for the captives of the ### district has not fallen unheard. The compassion you feel is but a faint echo of the love that moved the Great Shepherd to seek His lost sheep. And mark this: the Breaker is gone up before them. The Breaker, who is their King and God, shall lead them through all opposition and bring them without fail to their quiet resting place. He who has borne the penalty of all iniquities knows how to snap the iron chains of addiction and bring forth those who seem dead in trespasses and sin. The answer to our fears is before us, "The Breaker is come up before them." He makes a way for His people, yes, creates it by force of arms! So be not dismayed at the sight of souls laid low as in the Pit; God hath found a ransom. The deliverance is certain, for He who is the Through-Breaker has torn the veil and given free access to Heaven. Cease not, then, to plead this promise: "He brought them forth."

Now, as to your own inward question, whether you are to go, or whether the Lord has turned your thought toward something nearer, let your soul be still. The Spirit moves as the wind; He bloweth where He listeth. At one time He creates a revival at Samaria, at another He saves a eunuch on the road to Gaza. He makes one an evangelist and another a hidden intercessor. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that showeth mercy. This much is sure: if the Breaker puts His hand upon you and brings you forth to speak to those bound in misery, He will go before you. Remember Jacob at the brook Jabbok, full of fear and trembling, yet Esau fell on his neck and kissed him. The Lord who delivers from the archers of fear will not leave you to your own trembling nature. But if, after waiting upon His guidance, the way does not open, do not think your prayer is wasted. The desire you felt may have been His very means of stirring you to join the great host who, by supplication, break the ground for revival. Talk of getting up a revival! It were insufferable arrogance to make the attempt. It belongeth not to us to do this. Unto the Lord our God alone doth this belong. Yet in the secret place, where the soul wrestles and groans, the clock of mercy strikes the hour of deliverance.

Pray on, dear heart, and let others be summoned to the throne of grace for a true work of the Holy Ghost. Not in condemnation, but in the tender accents of the Breaker’s own love, must the message go forth. And if the Lord of the harvest shall send you, or any other, the silver and gold of their liberty will be His alone. Divine Omnipotence is the doctrine of a revival. When His arm is made bare, the captives shall come forth with singing, and the tongue of the dumb shall shout for joy. Until that day, let this be your song as you wait: "He brought them forth."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The mercy of God is already at work when a soul sees strangers in bondage and prays for their chains to be broken. That is not a small work. When you watched that video and your heart cried out for Jesus to break the chains of alcohol, drugs, and every false fulfillment, you were asking for what only He can give. Do not stop praying. The stronger the bondage, the more His power is glorified in its overthrow. Keep those people before the Lord even if you never meet them. Prayer is real labor, not a lesser substitute for going.

But be careful how you interpret the silence that followed. A soul that burns with a new desire often expects God to keep the flame at full height forever. He does not always do so. Sometimes He lets the first heat subside so that we may see whether the desire came from Him or only from the excitement of the moment. The fact that you have not thought much about the far place since does not by itself mean God is saying no. It may mean He is testing your willingness rather than commanding your going. Or it may mean He has already begun to answer by turning your face to a nearer field. You said another idea has come, one more local, easier for you as an introvert, among people you know, and in a place where you used to go to school. That is not a small clue. The Lord often sends a person to Nineveh, but He may first send him to his own street. The nearer field is not a consolation prize for an introvert. It is the place where your own life already gives weight to your words.

Fear is not proof that you must not speak. The apostle Paul himself said he was with the Corinthians in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, yet he still opened his mouth. Fear is humbling, and humility is safer than boldness that thinks it stands. The one who thinks he stands must take heed lest he fall. Those who go to people enslaved by drugs in the spirit of the strong looking down on the weak will do little good. Those who go knowing that they too would be in chains except for grace will speak with the tongue of a fellow prisoner who has found the door open. That is the love you rightly desire, not condemnation.

Do not imagine that you must feel ready. The disciples in the boat did not feel ready when they saw the Lord walking on the sea in the fourth watch. They were afraid, and their fear grew before it was calmed. The Lord did not appear to them at once, because He was teaching them not to demand quick deliverance from every distress, but to bear what came and trust Him in the dark. You are in a smaller dark. You do not know whether the thought of the far city was a passing spark or a true call. You do not know whether your introversion is a wall to be broken down or a door to a different work. But you do know that God put those people before your eyes and that you prayed. That is obedience already. Now go further by praying with persistence. Ask the Lord to break the chains in that place whether or not you ever set foot there. Then ask Him to show you whom He has put within your reach.

The people you already know in the local place are not accidental. The fact that you used to go to school there gives you a foothold a stranger would not have. Do not despise it because it is easier or nearer. And if the Lord later opens a door to the far-off place, do not refuse it out of comfort. The wise men, though they were foreigners and barbarians, left their country and undertook a long journey, and when they came they worshipped with fear and great trembling. We who are citizens of heaven should imitate even those foreigners in seeking Christ. But imitation begins in the place where God has made you a citizen for now.

Go to the local field. Pray for the distant one. Do not wait until all fear is gone, or you will never go anywhere. The enemy uses delay as much as he uses open sin. The day of the Lord comes as a thief, and no one knows the day of his own departure. Therefore let today be the day of small obedience.

One more thing. When you speak of Jesus as the only fulfillment, you speak rightly. But remember that no human argument breaks those chains. The prison was burst open not by our eloquence but by the death of Christ. When He was crucified, the dead were raised, the gates of brass were broken, and the keepers of hell cowered in fear. That same power is present when the gospel is spoken in love. So do not make your goal to be impressive or even to be fearless. Make your goal to be faithful. Pray for the people of that far place by name if you can, even if you only know the name of the town. Ask God to send laborers there. Then let the nearer labor begin quietly, with prayer and with whatever word the Lord gives you. God bless you.

It is right to keep praying for those people even if the thought of going has quieted. Not every burden is a summons to travel. Sometimes God gives us a burden so we will intercede, and he sends someone else to go. Do not measure your obedience against the evangelist you watched. He may have the gift of evangelism, and you may not have that same gift. That does not make your prayer small. We frustrate ourselves when we try to be something God did not make us. You are not called to run someone else's race. You are called to finish the course God has set before you.

The streets you saw show what the world's idea of freedom really is. People go to substances for fulfillment, and the substances become chains. Jesus does not offer a cleaner version of that escape. He breaks the power of the thing that holds a person. Pray that many there would be delivered from addiction and then filled with the Holy Spirit, because freedom from drugs alone is not enough. They need a new life in Christ.

As for whether God is saying no or saying wait, be careful not to confuse silence with a closed door. The fact that you have not thought about it much may simply mean the burden was for a season of prayer, or it may mean God has placed a nearer field in front of you. The place you already know, with people you already recognize, is often harder in its own way, but Jesus sends people to their own neighbors too. Being an introvert is not disqualification. Moses felt inadequate and tried to avoid the call, yet God sent him to speak. If God does open the door for you to go, go in love and in truth, not condemnation. But if he does not, remain faithful in prayer. That is not second best.

Keep praying for a genuine revival there, not just a crowd chasing a feeling. Pray that the gospel would come with power, that chains of alcohol, drugs, and every other false refuge would be broken, and that those people would find their only lasting fulfillment in Jesus Christ. When the darkness deepens, a life set apart for Jesus becomes more visible. Pray that God raises up such lives on those streets. He alone is the chain breaker, and he alone can raise what looks dead and make it alive.
