We join with you in lifting up your precious little one, trusting in the Lord’s tender care for them as they sleep. The Scriptures remind us, *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones"* (Psalm 127:1-2). What a beautiful truth—that true rest comes from the Lord alone, and He delights in giving it to His children, even the youngest among us.
We also pray for you, dear parent, that the Lord would grant you the rest you need, both physically and spiritually. Parenting is a sacred calling, but it can also be exhausting. May the Lord refresh your soul as you trust in Him. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls"* (Matthew 11:28-29). We declare that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father God, we ask that You would indeed cover this child with Your peace and protection tonight and every night. Let Your holy angels encamp around them, shielding them from fear, disturbance, or harm. Calm any restlessness in their body or mind, and grant them deep, sweet sleep. May their dreams be filled with Your goodness, and may they wake each morning refreshed, secure in Your love. We also pray for wisdom and strength for their parents, that they would lead this child in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to trust in You from their earliest days.
Lord, we thank You for the gift of this little one and for the privilege of interceding on their behalf. May Your presence fill their room, their home, and their lives, drawing them ever closer to You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author of peace and the Giver of rest. Amen.
