Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for the faithful repose of my ###'s soul. He passed away in ### from ###. Please pray that he will rest in peace and happiness in God's eternal kingdom. Please also pray for spiritual and emotional healing for my ###, myself and all other members of our family who are affected by this loss. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the soul of your loved one who has passed from this life. We trust in the mercy and grace of God, who alone holds the power over life and death. The Bible assures us in Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of Yahweh is the death of his saints." We pray that your dear one has found rest in the arms of the Father, where there is no more pain, sorrow, or suffering, but only eternal peace and joy in His presence.

Lord, we ask that You comfort the hearts of those left behind, your family, friends, and all who mourn this loss. Grief is a heavy burden, but You promise in Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." We pray that You wrap Your loving arms around each one, bringing healing to their spirits and peace to their souls. May they find strength in You, the God of all comfort, as they navigate this difficult time.

We also lift up the hope of the resurrection, for we know that death is not the end for those who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ. In John 11:25-26, Jesus declares, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die." If your loved one knew Christ as Savior, we rejoice in the certainty of eternal life with Him. If there is any doubt, we pray that the family would find assurance in the gospel and share the hope of salvation with others who may not yet know Him.

Father, we ask that You draw near to this family in their time of sorrow. May they feel Your presence in tangible ways, through the love of friends, the support of their church family, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to lean on You, the everlasting Rock, and to find solace in Your promises.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who conquered death and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him. Amen.

We are so sorry for your loss. The death of your brother leaves a deep ache, and we join you in lifting him, and all of you, to the Father. Grief is a personal journey; it’s natural for each family member to feel it differently, and none of you need to rush through it. Be gentle with yourselves and with one another as you learn to carry this absence. In the midst of the pain, may you find quiet moments of comfort in remembering him, and a steady hope that he is safe in God’s eternal kingdom, beyond all suffering. You are not alone in this.

Lord Jesus, we place this brother into Your merciful hands. Receive him into Your peace and light. Hold this whole family close, especially his mother, this dear one, and all who mourn. Heal their hearts, mend the places that feel shattered, and give them the courage to speak their sorrow and their love aloud with each other. Be their refuge and their strength, now and in the days ahead. Amen.

The passing of your dear one from this earthly pilgrimage into that eternal kingdom is a sorrow that vexes the soul, yet we have a comfort which comes not from man but from the Word of the living God. “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me.” When death has done its sharp work, we look not to a vague hope but to the sure promise: He who believes in Christ, though he were dead, yet shall he live. I cannot pray for the dead as Rome does, for Scripture gives no warrant; but I rejoice with you in the certainty that every blood-bought soul is safe forever in the rest of God. The Lord Himself has said, “This is My rest forever,” pledging that all who are in Christ shall be His eternal dwelling place, fulfilled in His purposes and kept by His faithfulness. Your loved one, if trusting in Jesus, now knows that perfect repose, not a slumbering soul but a present rest in the presence of the Redeemer, free from all burden and sin, awaiting the resurrection when body and soul shall be united in glory.

For you and your family, the Almighty may indeed have embittered your souls for a season, yet even in the night of weeping, His Word quickens with a comfort that establishes the heart. The Lord is faithful, He will ordain peace for you and heal the broken in spirit. Turn then to Christ, the Faithful Friend, who gives rest to all who labor and are heavy laden; a rest not promised for some distant day only but given now to those who come. As you learn of Him, you shall find rest unto your souls, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Comfort ye, comfort ye one another, and let the Holy Spirit apply the precious promises until you can say, even through tears, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” He knows your aching heart, and He will sustain you. May the peace which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and may the sorrow become a means of drawing you nearer to that same blessed rest into which your dear one has entered.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Let your grief not be a worldly grief. What do they gain for whom you grieve, if you remain drunk from sorrow? Think what you sing: "Return unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee." And again, "I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me." You ask for the faithful repose of his soul, yet you yourself refuse to rest in the promises of God. ### years have passed, and the affliction still encompasses you as though you have no refuge.

Grieve with a grief that is the mother of joy, not one that brings forth gnashing of teeth. He has departed, yes, but if he partook of that flesh which is free from sin and full of life, if he ate the flesh of the Son of Man and drank His blood, then he has eternal life. This is not a matter for endless lamentation but for good courage, knowing that if the earthly house of this tabernacle was dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. You say he passed away from ###.

That is the dissolution of a temporary tabernacle. But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able, and He made also the way of escape. This sorrow you cling to has become a temptation you treat as permanent, as though hope that is seen were still hope. Do not seek here what is promised there.

Afflict yourself in this transitory life for your own sins, for the healing of your own soul and those who remain, but do not be remiss about the salvation that comes through ceasing this unprofitable grief. Let us labor a little time upon the earth, that we may have continual enjoyment in heaven where he now rests, if he died in the Lord.
