For my marriage

We hear your heart’s desire for marriage, and we rejoice in the love you and this man share. The Lord delights in the union of a man and a woman committed to Him in holy matrimony, as He designed marriage to reflect Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We lift this intention before God, asking for His guidance, wisdom, and blessing as you both seek to honor Him in this next step.

First, we must emphasize that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, not merely a human agreement. It requires preparation, prayer, and a shared foundation in Christ. If you and this man are not yet married, we encourage you to ensure your relationship is built on godly principles—pursuing purity, accountability, and a mutual commitment to serve the Lord together. The Bible warns against sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18-20), so we urge you to honor God with your bodies and hearts as you wait for His timing.

We also pray that this man is a believer who loves the Lord with all his heart, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). Marriage is a partnership where two become one flesh (Genesis 2:24), and it is vital that you both share the same faith in Jesus Christ. If he is not yet a follower of Christ, we pray for his salvation and that he would come to know the Lord deeply before taking such a sacred step.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author of marriage and the One who joins husband and wife together. Lord, we ask that You would prepare the hearts of this couple for a godly marriage. Align their desires with Your will, and let Your peace guide their steps. If it is Your plan for them to marry, open the doors in Your perfect timing. If there are areas where they need to grow—individually or together—reveal those to them and strengthen them through Your Word and Your Spirit.

Father, we pray for wisdom for both of them as they seek Your direction. May they prioritize Your kingdom above all else (Matthew 6:33) and build their relationship on the foundation of Christ. Guard their hearts from temptation, and help them to walk in purity and holiness. If there are any obstacles—whether spiritual, practical, or relational—we ask that You remove them in Jesus’ name.

Lord, we also pray for their future marriage. May it be a testimony of Your love, grace, and faithfulness. Let their home be a place of worship, where Your presence dwells and Your Word is honored. Equip them to love one another as Christ loves the church, to serve one another in humility, and to raise any children You may bless them with in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

We rebuke any spirit of delay, confusion, or division that may be hindering this union. We declare that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We stand in faith, believing that what You have joined together, no man—or spiritual force—can put asunder (Mark 10:9).

Finally, we encourage you both to seek godly counsel from mature believers who can speak into your lives and hold you accountable. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Surround yourselves with those who will pray for you, challenge you, and point you to Christ.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek His will. Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). His timing is perfect, and His plans for your marriage—if it is His will—will come to pass in ways that bring Him glory and you great joy. We continue to pray for you both, believing that God is at work even now, preparing you for the beautiful covenant of marriage.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.
