Beloved of All
I have been a Christian for nearly 3 years now, & I didn't grow up in a Christian household. I don't really see much of my family anymore, but I live with my mum and brother. I want all my family members, the ones I've never met, the ones I live with, the ones I barely saw, and the ones who I have had problems with to all have Jesus in their lives. Jesus has changed my life for the better. I just want them to see that too. I've only shared the Gospel with my mum and brother, but they still dont believe. I know its not my job to save them, that's God's job. I plant the seed and He waters it. But sometimes it's really hard to trust in His timing & to not lean on my own understanding. As they are unbelievers, I am exposed to a lot of secular music, which makes it harder for me as I don't listen to secular music anymore, not of my own choice at least. And they don't know all the darkness of this world, or that Christ is the light. My brother believes in evolution & doesn't really like when I bring up Jesus in conversations. I want my brother to know that what happened in Genesis is true & for him to actually find out for himself that evolution isnt how everything came into existence, but by God. My mum is on the fence whether or not God exists, but she isn't doing anything to seek God or to find out if God is real or not, so I want that desire to seek God to be in her heart. And as they both don't know life and death is in the power of the tongue, they speak a lot of death over themselves and others. I also struggle with them not being believers, as I don't always have the confidence to bring Jesus up in conversations. Sometimes I stop myself from doing so, as I care too much of what others think. I find it easier to talk about Jesus with Christians, but I also wanna have the boldness to talk about Jesus with anyone, believer or not. Sometimes when they tall about others in a bad way or they start an argument, I retaliate, I join in with the gossip. Yes, it's not always the case and I know it to be wrong. I just need God's help to not be taken in by that temptation. And when they do gossip, do I walk away, do I be silent, do I say nice things about the person they're talking about? I don't know. And I need God's guidance on what to do each time that happens, as sometimes it may be better to do one rather than the other that would be good other times. I serve them in ways that I can and I try. But I think I do it on my own strength. I need help to rely on Jesus' strength, not my own. I want to be Christ like, not just for them, but for myself. I also need to have faith & the ability to trust God & not lean on my own understanding, to trust in His timing, to trust that He can do the impossible, & to trust that they're not too far gone. I know they're not, but sometimes it's hard to actually believe something like that even though I know it. As I'm an intercessor, I do pray for them daily, but I need to trust God that it's not by my works that they get saved & that prayer does work, as sometimes it makes me doubt when things don't how I expect them to go. Thank you to anyone who prays for me or gives me any advice. I hope you have a wonderful day & if you need any prayer requests, don't be afraid to reply to this. God bless you

We hear the deep longing of your heart for your family’s salvation, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. Your love for them is evident, and your desire to see them come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior is a reflection of God’s own heart. The transformation you’ve experienced in Christ is a powerful testimony, and we rejoice in how He has worked in your life. Now, we lift your family before Him, trusting that the same power that saved you is at work in them, even when the evidence is unseen.

First, we want to affirm your understanding that salvation is God’s work, not yours. You are right to plant seeds and water them, but it is the Lord who gives the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). This truth is both freeing and challenging, freeing because you are not responsible for their response, but challenging because it requires trust in God’s timing and sovereignty. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that you would cling to this promise, especially in moments of doubt or impatience. God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our expectations.

Your struggle with secular influences in your home is real, and we want to encourage you to stand firm in the truth. The apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:2, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." It is not wrong to set boundaries for yourself, even if those around you do not understand. You are called to be in the world but not of it (John 17:14-16), and that may mean limiting exposure to things that contradict God’s truth. We pray for wisdom for you to navigate these moments with grace and conviction, knowing that your choices honor God.

Regarding your brother’s belief in evolution, we encourage you to approach this topic with gentleness and respect, as 1 Peter 3:15 instructs: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear." You can share your faith without engaging in arguments, trusting that the Holy Spirit will work in his heart. Genesis 1:1 declares, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth," and this truth is foundational to our faith. Pray for opportunities to plant seeds of truth in his heart, and trust that God can reveal Himself to him in ways you may not expect.

For your mother, who is on the fence about God’s existence, we pray that the Lord would stir a hunger in her heart to seek Him. Jeremiah 29:13 says, "You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." We ask God to remove any barriers in her life that keep her from pursuing Him and to open her eyes to His reality. Your prayers for her are powerful, and we join you in asking God to draw her to Himself.

The issue of gossip and negative speech in your home is a serious one, and we want to address it with both truth and love. Proverbs 18:21 warns, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit." When your family speaks death over themselves or others, it grieves the Holy Spirit and opens the door to darkness. Your question about how to respond is a wise one. Walking away, remaining silent, or speaking life are all valid responses, but the Holy Spirit will guide you in each situation. We pray for discernment for you to know when to speak and when to hold your peace, and for the courage to be a light in those moments. Ephesians 4:29 says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."

Your struggle with confidence in sharing your faith is something many believers face, but we serve a God who equips the called. Acts 1:8 promises, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth." We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with boldness and that you would step out in faith, trusting that God will give you the words to say. Remember, it is not about your eloquence but about the power of the gospel (Romans 1:16).

Your desire to serve your family in Christ’s strength rather than your own is a beautiful reflection of humility. Jesus said in John 15:5, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." We pray that you would abide in Him daily, drawing your strength from His presence. When you rely on Him, your actions will bear fruit that lasts, not just for your family but for your own spiritual growth.

Finally, we want to encourage you in your role as an intercessor. Prayer is not a last resort, it is the most powerful tool we have. James 5:16 reminds us, "The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Your prayers for your family are heard by God, and He is at work even when you don’t see the results. We pray that you would find peace in trusting God’s sovereignty and that you would continue to lift your family before Him with faith, knowing that nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of love and concern for this dear sister and her family. Lord, we thank You for the work You have done in her life and for her desire to see her family come to know You. We ask that You would draw each member of her family to Yourself, softening their hearts and opening their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Father, we pray for her brother, that You would reveal Yourself to him in ways he cannot deny, and that he would come to know the truth of Your creation and Your love for him. For her mother, we ask that You would stir a hunger in her heart to seek You and that she would find You when she searches with all her heart.

Lord, we ask for wisdom and discernment for our sister as she navigates conversations and relationships with her family. Give her the boldness to share her faith with confidence and the grace to respond to gossip and negativity in a way that honors You. Help her to rely on Your strength and not her own, and to trust in Your timing and sovereignty. We pray that she would abide in You daily, drawing her strength from Your presence, and that her life would be a testimony of Your love and power.

Father, we trust that You are at work in this family, even when the evidence is unseen. We ask that You would continue to move in their lives, breaking down barriers and removing any obstacles that keep them from knowing You. We pray that our sister would find peace in trusting You and that she would continue to lift her family before You in prayer, knowing that nothing is impossible for You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us. It’s clear how deeply you love your family, and we hear both your hope and the weight you carry day by day. Living as the only believer in a home where Jesus isn’t yet known can be isolating, and the waiting stretches us in ways that hurt. We want you to know we’re genuinely with you in this.

What stands out to us in what you wrote is how much you already understand: you know you’re planting and watering, not saving. That truth isn’t just theology, it’s your freedom. Right now, the most real work happening in your mum and brother may not be the conversations, but the quiet consistency of your life. Your serving, your kindness when you want to snap back, your refusal to let gossip carry you away, even when you stumble, those things tell a story God can use. You don’t have to manufacture boldness in one big leap. Sometimes courage grows by simply staying in the room, not walking away, and asking Jesus silently in the moment, “What would love do here?”

In practical terms, when your brother recoils from talk of Jesus, it might help to stop pressing the facts and simply keep showing him a person who isn’t afraid of his questions. The door often swings open later because someone felt safe, not because they lost an argument. With your mum, you might try asking, “What would it take for you to really want to know?” and then listen, without needing to answer that day. And in those messy moments when gossip rises and you feel yourself pulled in, you can step out, change the subject gently, or speak something true about the person. Any of those is a win, and you’ll get better at reading which one fits as you practice leaning on Jesus’ strength instead of your own.

We also want to say something simple but steadying: it’s okay that you don’t feel like trusting God’s timing right now. You can tell Him that. You can be honest about the doubt and still keep praying, because your prayers rest in hands far bigger than your feelings. God isn’t frustrated with your struggle; He’s not waiting for you to get it all right before He acts.

Let us pray with you.

Jesus, thank you for this brother/sister who loves their family so courageously. Please quiet their heart when the waiting feels too long, and remind them that you are already at work in ways they cannot see. Give them small, doable moments of faithfulness today, and protect them from the temptation to take on what only you can do. Draw their mum and brother gently toward yourself, and let the life of your child in that home become a living invitation. We trust you with the timing, the words, and the outcome. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The burden you carry for your family’s salvation is a weight that drives you to the throne of grace, and that is well, for prayer is often the shadow of God’s coming blessing. You have seen God’s Salvation in Christ, your eyes have beheld Him, and now you long for your household to look upon Him too. Remember this: wherever we see Jesus, we see God’s Salvation. Your mother and brother do not yet see, but you must not measure God’s power by their present blindness. Trust, and the work is done, and you shall yet know the truth of His salvation in their lives as well as your own.

You say it is hard to trust His timing and not lean on your own understanding. Indeed, the truth of God’s salvation operates most powerfully upon our minds, proving itself real in the furnace of waiting. David was taught from his youth, chastened but never cast out, and he learned to declare God’s wondrous works. You are in that same school, God’s pupil, being trained to trust Him implicitly. Your mother’s indifference and your brother’s scoffing are not barriers to the Almighty; they are opportunities for His goodness to lead them to repentance. The forbearance of God that permits their unbelief this hour is not a wink at sin but a call to turn. Every breath they draw is a token of that goodness, meant to draw them, not to drive them away.

When your brother speaks of evolution, he sets up his own thoughts contrary to God’s thoughts, for the unconverted mind is not God’s people in that sense, their ways grate in His ears. But you have learned the truth of a real Fall and a real Atonement. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin, and the same God who made the worlds by His word can shatter those proud reasonings in a moment. You need not win an argument; you need only hold forth Christ, the power of God’s Salvation. And if you fear man and lack boldness, look again to the throne. You are bid to come boldly, not because you are worthy, but because a Man who is also God pleads there for you. Christ presents your petitions as precious things. Should you then shrink from speaking of Him below, when He speaks for you above?

As for the gossip and retaliation, you have touched the law of God’s house. The place where God dwells must be holy, for our God is a consuming fire. You ask what to do when evil talk swirls around you. The answer is not always the same in outward form, but the inward law is fixed: let your silence or your gentle word be measured by the pattern of Christ. Do not trust your own struggling; trust Christ to work sanctification in you as surely as justification. The water and the blood flowed together from His riven side. When you feel yourself giving way to the temptation to join in, cast yourself upon Him afresh, only trust Him! He will make a new man of you even in that moment.

You serve them, you pray, you plant the seed, but you confess you often do it in your own strength. That is the root of much weariness. Salvation must be God’s from top to bottom, and so must your daily service. Your relying upon Christ is my warranty for accrediting you with all the advantages of His grace. When you feel your own weakness, that is the very moment to let Christ be your strength. Come to His cross, fix your trust on His passion which expiated guilt, on His resurrection which secures life, on His intercession which guarantees salvation to the uttermost. So shall you serve with a rested heart, knowing the outcome belongs to Him.

And to your deep fear, that they are too far gone, let the Word answer. If there was room for the chief of sinners, there is room for them. God’s sovereignty encloses them, and His goodness is unbounded. He might have made salvation conditional upon works, but He has been pleased to give it to every soul that believes. Your brother, your mother, those you have never met, none are beyond the reach of the voice that said, “You are My people.” May the Lord say it to them now. Go your way with this prayer: Lord, let us all know the truth of Your salvation. May we trust You more, and more, and more. Amen.

Your longing for your family's salvation is a holy grief. But take care that you do not rely on your own strength or wisdom to bring it about. God delivers by His mercies, and prayer contributes mightily. Continue your daily intercession with perseverance, watching thereunto. The acceptable time is His to choose; He who hearkens in a day of salvation will succor them in His season. Do not doubt when you see no immediate fruit, for affliction of soul often teaches us not to trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.

When it comes to speaking of Christ, you desire boldness but hold back from fear of man. True boldness is not born of earthly security but of poverty of spirit, the one who has nothing to lose speaks with courage. Yet such boldness must be free from wrath and harshness. If you reprove with anger, you ruin all; but if with gentleness and patient love, it is boldness indeed. Before your mother and brother, do not strive over evolution or argue with bitter words. Instead, let your life shine with quiet good works, and when you speak, do so without passion, as Stephen whose face was like an angel even as he was rejected. A servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome but gentle to all.

As for the gossip and evil talk that surround you, you know it is wrong to join. When curses and slanders fly, be silent, or speak a good word in a calm spirit. To retaliate is to be overcome by evil. Flee from the very appearance of sin. If you cannot depart in body, depart in heart, and let your lips be a fountain of blessing, even for those who speak death over themselves. You are an intercessor; do not let your tongue be defiled.

Why lean on your own understanding? God often delays to teach us humility and to show that the power belongs to Him. Your failures, when you join in their gossip or shrink from witness, should drive you to deeper repentance and dependence, not despair. Commend yourself and your household to the living God. Persevere in prayer at all seasons in the Spirit, for He is able to prick even the hardest heart. Plant the seed, water it with tears, but leave the increase to Him. The acceptable time, the day of salvation, will dawn as He wills. Let your gentle, persistent love be a daily sermon. So may you one day behold them with boldness at the table of the Lord.

Your longing for your family’s salvation is a beautiful reflection of God’s own heart. The fact that you carry them daily in prayer shows the Spirit is already moving in you as an intercessor. When you feel the ache of their unbelief and wonder if anything is happening, remember that God’s timing often looks different than our expectations. Think of the apostle Paul: he had a clear promise from Jesus that he would bear witness in Rome. I’m sure he didn’t imagine he would get there through arrest, shipwreck, and chains. Yet every delay and detour was part of God’s perfect plan. So when you plant seeds and see no immediate fruit, resist the urge to lean on your own understanding. Wait on the Lord, and trust that He is working even in the silence and the arguments.

The boldness you desire to speak about Jesus doesn’t come from mustering up your own courage. It flows from knowing who you are in Christ. Scripture says that in Him we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith. You have free access to the Father, and that same confidence spills over into your witness. You are not alone when you open your mouth; the Holy Spirit bears witness to Jesus. The first disciples didn’t have clever arguments, they simply testified to what they had seen and heard. And Jesus Himself said that the works He did in the Father’s name bore witness of Him. Your changed life, your kindness, your service to your mum and brother, those works are already speaking louder than you know.

When you face your brother’s belief in evolution or your mum’s hesitation, remember that intellectual debates rarely win hearts. The real issue is whether they will believe the witness God has already given. John the Baptist came as a witness to point people to the light. The Father bore witness through the Scriptures and through the voice at Jesus’ baptism. The works of Jesus bore witness. The Spirit continues to bear witness to the truth that Jesus is God come in the flesh, the only Savior. Your job isn’t to argue every point; it’s to keep holding up the light of Christ so that the Spirit can use what they see and hear. You can’t manufacture faith for them, but you can pray that the Spirit stirs a hunger in your mum to seek God and opens your brother’s eyes to the truth of Genesis as part of God’s reliable Word. In the meantime, let your own confidence rest on the witness of God, which is greater than any human opinion.

Living in a home where you hear secular music and gossip is draining, and I hear how much you want to handle it rightly. The temptation to join in or retaliate is real, but love casts out fear. When you find yourself about to speak death over someone or add to an argument, pause and remember: as Jesus is, so are we in this world. How was He? Full of compassion, slow to anger, speaking truth in love. There will be times to walk away quietly, times to say something kind about the person being torn down, and times to simply be silent and pray inwardly. Ask the Spirit for discernment in each moment, and don’t beat yourself up when you stumble. Your confidence isn’t in your perfect behavior, it’s in the fact that you are in Christ, secure and loved. Let that perfect love drive out the fear of what others might think.

You said you sometimes serve your family in your own strength. That is utterly human, and the remedy is not to try harder but to abide more deeply. The same Jesus who raised the son of the widow at Nain and called Lazarus from the tomb can breathe resurrection life into your weary efforts. Turn to Him moment by moment, and His strength will be made perfect in your weakness. The one who said, “Look and live” to the Israelites dying from snakebites still says today: look to Me, believe, and receive life. Your family’s salvation will not come by your striving but by their looking upon Christ, and your consistent witness, backed by prayer, is part of how they will see Him.

Keep asking God to increase your faith and to perfect His love in your heart. He is not discouraged by your family’s resistance, and neither should you be. No one is too far gone. The witness of the Spirit is greater than any wall of unbelief. Hold onto that, and let the Lord guide your words, your timing, and your responses. He who promised to build His church will draw your loved ones in His own wise way. May you find deep rest in that truth and walk daily in the boldness that comes from knowing you are His.

We are deeply moved by your heart for your family and your earnest desire to see them come to know Jesus as their Savior. Thank you for trusting us with this sacred burden—it is an honor to stand with you in prayer for their salvation. We have lifted up your mother, brother, and all your family members before the Lord, asking Him to soften their hearts, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and draw them irresistibly to Himself. We pray that the seeds you have planted would take root and grow, even in ways unseen, and that the Holy Spirit would water them with conviction, revelation, and a hunger for God’s Word.

We also pray for *you*, dear sister/brother in Christ, as you navigate this journey. We ask the Lord to fill you with His boldness and wisdom in conversations, that you would speak the truth in love without fear of man. When the temptation to gossip or retaliate arises, may the Holy Spirit empower you to respond with grace, whether that means walking away, speaking life, or remaining silent in godly restraint. We pray for your confidence in Christ, that you would not rely on your own strength but lean fully on His, trusting that His power is made perfect in your weakness.

Above all, we ask the Father to deepen your faith in His timing and His promises. We stand with you in declaring that *no one* is too far gone for His saving grace, and we pray you would see glimpses of His work in your family’s lives—even small ones—that would strengthen your trust in Him. May you rest in the assurance that salvation belongs to the Lord, and that your prayers are powerful and effective, even when the answers are not yet visible.

If the Lord has moved in your family’s lives since you posted this, we would love to rejoice with you! If not, we are here to continue interceding alongside you. Either way, we pray you would feel His peace and presence as you press into Him. May He bless you with perseverance, hope, and the joy of seeing His kingdom advance in your home.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
