For my children to raise up in the fear of God

Shalom My children ### (###) and ### (###) are growing up with their mother ### and her new partner ###—who have another child together (###)—and they are not yet born again. Could you please pray for my children that they may nevertheless grow up in the fear of God (Isaiah 54:13 and for new life in Christ for ### and ###), in Jesus' name? Thank you, and God bless you in Jesus' name!

We hear the burden of your heart for your children and we join with you in bringing them before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We understand your longing that even though they are growing up in a home that does not yet know the Lord, they would still be raised in the fear of God, and we stand with you on the promise of Isaiah 54:13 that all your children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of your children.

We also must speak the truth in love about the home where they are living. You have shared that their mother and her new partner are living together and have had a child together outside of marriage and are not yet born again. This is not in alignment with God's design. The Scripture is clear that marriage is to be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, Hebrews 13:4, and that we are to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18. Living together and having children outside of the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication, and it falls short of God's holy standard. We do not say this to condemn but to call to repentance, for God desires that all would come to repentance and to new life in Christ, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Timothy 2:4. If this man and woman intend to remain together, we pray that God would convict them and lead them toward holy marriage as God intended, rather than a partnership outside of His covenant. And we pray that they would both be drawn to salvation through Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, Acts 4:12, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6.

We take comfort that the Lord sees your children and loves them deeply. They are a heritage from the Lord, Psalm 127:3, and His ear is open to your prayers for them. Though you may not be able to control their daily environment, we encourage you to be faithful in the time you have with them to teach them diligently as God commanded in Deuteronomy 6:6-7, to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, Ephesians 6:4, trusting the promise of Proverbs 22:6 to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Your consistent example, your prayers, and your speaking of Christ to them are seeds that God can water and cause to grow.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we lift up these precious children to You. We ask that You place Your hand upon them, protect their hearts and minds from confusion and from the ways of this world, and draw them to Yourself from their earliest years. Teach them Yourself, Lord, give them a fear of You which is the beginning of wisdom, Psalm 111:10, and let Your peace guard them. We pray that You would surround them with Your angels, that You would let Your Word find its way into their hearts, that even in a home that does not yet know You, they would hear Your voice and come to know Jesus as their Savior at a young age.

We also lift up their mother and her partner and their little child. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace upon them. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, convict them of sin and lead them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Grant them new life in Christ, that they would be born again, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and that if it is Your will for them to be together, they would honor You in holy marriage. Transform that household by Your Spirit, so that these children may see the light of Christ in their home.

Father, strengthen this father who is praying, give him wisdom, courage, and perseverance to be a godly example, to speak the truth in love, and to trust You with what he cannot control. We know that You work all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28, and we trust Your faithfulness over these children. Keep them, Lord, and let them grow up to love and serve You all the days of their lives. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to share Scripture with your children whenever you can, and to model a life that fears God. The Lord is faithful and He hears the prayers of a father for his children. Do not grow weary, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up, Galatians 6:9. We are standing with you, trusting that God will be their Teacher and their Shepherd.

We can hear how deeply you love ### and ### and how much you long for them to know the Lord even as they are growing up in a home where faith is not yet shared. That is a tender burden to carry, and we want to stand with you in it.

One thing that has helped other parents in a similar place is to make the time you do have with your children as steady and peaceful as you can. Research and experience both show that children are deeply shaped by enjoyable, unhurried time with a parent who listens and cares, and by seeing parents keep conflict low and cooperation high even when family structures are complicated. You cannot control what is taught in their other home, but you can be a consistent witness where you are.

A simple next step many fathers have found doable is to build a gentle rhythm when they are with you, a short prayer of thanks together, a Bible story in everyday language, space for their questions, and letting your life show the calm and kindness you want them to know. Keep praying by name for ### and ### too, that the Lord would draw each of them to new life in Christ in His way and timing.

Father, we lift ### and ### to You, ask You to watch over them, teach them to know Your voice and to walk in Your ways, and to surround them with Your care. We ask You to draw ### and ### to Yourself and give this father wisdom, patience and peace as he loves his children well. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus, draw these children to Yourself. Let them grow in the fear of God, and grant new life in Christ to ### and ###, in Jesus' name. Amen.

- *"All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children."* (Isaiah 54:13)
- *"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."* (Acts 16:31)

We join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, and we thank you for your love for your children and your desire that they should know Him.

We pray that the Lord Himself will be their Teacher, for as it is written, all your children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. We ask that He who condescends to teach little children, He who wheels the stars and yet stoops to instruct a child, would teach them from their youth. May they know not a slavish fear which has torment and makes the soul afraid of God as a culprit before a judge, but that filial fear which is the beginning of wisdom, the holy awe and loving reverence of a child toward his Father. Such fear casts out the fear of man and gives strong confidence, for in the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and His children shall have a place of refuge. We pray that this refuge would be theirs, though they are divided from you in daily life, that the Lord would set a hedge about them and keep them.

We pray also for their mother and for her partner, and for their little one, that God who alone is our rock and our salvation would have mercy upon them. Salvation is of the Lord alone, and He works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. We do not ask God to affirm or bless what is outside His holy design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where alone He has placed the gift of living together, but we earnestly pray that both of them would be born again through faith in Jesus Christ alone. May the Holy Spirit bring conviction of sin, a hatred of sin and a love of righteousness, and draw them to repentance and to new life in Christ, that believing on the Lord Jesus they may be saved.

We pray that you may be sustained to walk before your children in that godly sincerity which speaks often of the glory of God and tells the old story of Jesus and His love. Children are a heritage of the Lord, as arrows in the hand of a mighty man, and though you cannot be with them at all times, the Lord is with them at all times. Continue to teach them as you have opportunity, to pray for them, and to live before them in faith and holy fear, leaving nothing undone which the Lord commands.

May the Lord hear the prayers of a father for his children, and perfect praise even out of the mouths of babes, and bring all of them into the knowledge of His grace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Saviour. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in bringing your children before the Lord with thanksgiving and earnest prayer, and we thank you for your love for them and your desire that they know Christ.

We pray for your children, that even as they grow up in a home that does not yet know the Lord, God Himself will teach them and draw them to Himself, as it is written, all your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. We ask that the Lord will plant in their hearts a true fear of God, not a fear that drives away, but the reverent fear that leads to wisdom and life. Scripture calls us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure, and we pray that God will so work in these young hearts, that they may become blameless children of God, lights shining in the midst of a crooked generation, holding fast to the word of life.

We also pray with you for their mother and her partner and for their little child, that they may come to new life in Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His good design for marriage and family, for He has shown us that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together in this way belongs within that covenant. Instead we pray for mercy and for salvation through Jesus Christ alone, that God in His kindness would lead them to repentance and faith, that they would hear the gospel, be born again, and walk in the way that pleases Him. We pray that the Lord who pricks the heart and gives the spirit of compunction would open their eyes to see their need of a Savior and to receive His forgiveness and transforming grace.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, for prayer mightily contributes to what God in mercy is pleased to do, and to continue to be a faithful witness to your children whenever you have opportunity, teaching them the Scriptures, praying with them, and showing them by your life what it is to fear the Lord. The psalm says your children shall be like olive plants around your table, and we pray that the Lord will make it so, that they would grow strong and fruitful in His house, rooted in His love.

May the God of all mercies keep your children in His hand, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and bring their mother and her household to know Him who alone is Lord and Savior. We will continue to pray with you for this, trusting that nothing is too hard for the Lord, and giving thanks for every step of His grace.

In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who died and rose again that we might have life, Amen.
