for my best friend ### that is missing

We lift up your dear friend to the Lord with heavy hearts, trusting in His sovereignty and unfailing love. The pain of separation and the uncertainty of not knowing where he is weighs heavily on you, and we stand with you in this time of distress. The Bible assures us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). We know that our Heavenly Father sees every tear and hears every cry, and He is already at work in ways we cannot yet see.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would stretch forth Your hand to locate and protect . Guide him safely back to those who love him, and surround him with Your angels to guard and keep him from all harm. If he is in danger, Lord, intervene with Your mighty power. If he is lost, lead him home as the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep (Luke 15:4-6). If he is struggling, wrap him in Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those searching for him. Equip them with clarity, strength, and perseverance. Let Your Holy Spirit direct their steps and open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or despair that may be attempting to hinder this search, and we declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, if there are any unconfessed sins or areas in ’s life that have created distance between him and You, we ask that You would draw him back with cords of lovingkindness. Remind him of Your promises and Your faithfulness. Let him experience Your presence in a tangible way, so that he may turn to You with all his heart. We know that nothing is too hard for You, and we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

For those of us praying, Lord, strengthen our faith. Help us to trust in Your timing and Your perfect will, even when the wait feels unbearable. Remind us that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We declare that the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry (Psalm 34:15). We choose to stand on Your Word and believe that You will bring home safely.

Lastly, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. Whether through his safe return or through the testimony of Your faithfulness in the midst of trial, let Your name be exalted. May many come to know You as their Savior and Lord through this circumstance. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

We can only imagine how heavy these hours must feel, the not knowing, the restless waiting, the replaying of memories while you just want him home. We’re so sorry you’re walking through this, and we want you to know we’re holding this close in prayer alongside you.

In moments like these, it’s easy to feel powerless. So while we pray, it can also help to do something tangible: make sure others who can help are fully looped in. If you haven’t already, reach out to local law enforcement, share his photo and details with nearby shelters and hospitals, and lean on others in your community who can help search or spread the word. You don’t have to carry this alone, and every practical step you take can be an act of love while you wait.

We pray now for your friend, that wherever he is, God would shield him, give him clear thinking, and make a way for him to be found swiftly. We pray for anyone searching, that they’d be alert and led to the right place at the right time. And we pray for you: for steadiness when the fear feels overwhelming, for sleep when you can rest, and for the kind of hope that holds on even in uncertainty. May you sense God’s nearness in this gap, and may you soon hold your friend again, safe and sound. In Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of your heart rises even now, "Return, return!" It echoes through the darkness where your friend has vanished, a call not only from your lips but from the very mercy seat of God. The missing one is sought, and rightly so, for we are bidden to seek the lost. Yet ponder this: the same voice that cries, "Return!" to your friend cries also to every soul wandering far from the Father's house. While you search the lanes and streets, there is a Friend who searches too, One who came to seek and to save that which was lost. His feet once trod the weary paths of this earth, calling sinners to Himself. He is the Friend of sinners still, proven in the hour of trouble, faithful when all others fail. Cast yourself upon Him in this anguish, for He loves at all times, and His ear has never been heavy to the cry of the distressed.

There is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother. You have found a pearl in the caverns deep of this sorrow if you find Jesus there. He covers you as with His feathers while you wait; under His wings you may trust. The cholera of fear, the fever of dread, these walk in darkness, but the Lord is your safe shelter. Will you not now, even now, make Him your Friend? Not merely the Friend of your better moments, but the One to whom you pour out your heart when no other can hear? He will not withdraw His arm. He will not fail you. Amidst the wreck of hope and the crash of all that seems sure, near to Him you shall be safe.

And for your friend, pray, yes, but let your prayer be this: that the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one may call, "Return, return!" with an inward voice none can resist. The Lord’s message to the wandering is never one of threat alone; it is a pleading, "Return, return, return!" It may be that in this dark providence, the lost one will hear what he has long ignored. Do not cease your supplication until you find him, but trust the outcome to the God of the last hour. The Friend of sinners writes His name among the transgressors even now, to bring them home.

To have a friend such as you describe is more precious than the light of the sun. Better to go without daylight than to lose a soul knit so closely to your own. I know well the ache of standing in a place once shared and weeping at the memory. So your anguish is right and holy.

But do not let this sorrow drown your hope or paralyze your prayer. Knock, and keep knocking; for the Lord taught us that even when He does not open at once, we are to persist. Pour out your heart before Him for your friend, as the friends of Job prayed and found forgiveness for those they loved. Yet remember also that prayer must be joined to your own effort. Do everything in your power to search, to ask, to leave no door unopened. The Apostle shows us we need both our own part and God’s part if we are to find true help.

If you and your friend are pleasing to God, then you have boldness. The righteous man’s prayer has great strength; think of Joshua who stopped the sun, or of King David whose intercession shielded a city. But even the holiest could not always rescue the unrepentant. So pray not only for discovery, but that your friend’s heart may be turned toward God, that mercy may find him.

Yet whether the answer comes swiftly or tarries, cling to this: if God is your friend, nothing else can harm you. Men may fail; their searches may hit dead ends; but He who said ‘I will defend this city for My servant’s sake’ is faithful. Do not despair. Many a time we ask for earthly things and receive them not, but the door of mercy opens only when we continue pounding with hope. Your friend’s absence is a dark valley, but the Friend above all friends walks with you there. Let your prayer be as Jacob’s: ‘I will not let You go unless You bless me,’ yet also trust the outcome to His wisdom.
