Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord who is everywhere present and sees and hears all that is in the heart. You have asked for protection, for your heartbeat to become steady and normal, for your cholesterol to be lowered, and for pain and fear and worry and stress to be taken away, and it is right to bring all these needs to Him.
Scripture reminds us that anxiety scourges the soul and keeps us in trembling, but God does not leave us under that burden. When we look up to Him, He sends His own Word to our souls to free us. He is near whenever you eat or sleep or rise, and He knows the depth of your heart. So we can come to Him with fear and reverence, and also with confidence, for it is God who works in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure. We work out our salvation with fear and trembling, not in despair, but knowing that He is the one who sustains us.
Therefore do not be overcome by fear of what the body may suffer. The Lord said to fear not those things that can harm the body alone, but to trust Him who has care over both body and soul. He calls us to cast our cares upon Him and to rejoice with trembling, which is the true rejoicing of those who trust Him.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, I lift up this dear one to you. You know the beating of the heart and you number our days. Lay your protecting hand upon this life. Grant steadiness to the heart, bring cholesterol into a healthy measure, and remove pain from the body. Take away fear and worry and stress, and grant relief and peace that comes from your presence. Help this heart to rest in you, to walk in wisdom in caring for the body you have given, and to be filled with calm and trust each day. Let your peace guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May your will be done and may this life be strengthened to serve you with a quiet and hopeful spirit. Amen.
