We join with you in bringing your sister and yourself before our heavenly Father in Jesus name, and we are grateful you closed your request in His holy name, for it is only through Him we have access to God and hope for healing and peace. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.
We hear your concern for your sister who has suffered with tooth and gum pain for a long time. We understand how ongoing pain wears down the spirit and brings a bad mood and lack of desire to work, and how relying only on pain killers gives just temporary relief. We pray for her complete healing, for God is our healer who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also want to encourage you both with loving truth that while we trust God for healing, He also gives us wisdom to steward the bodies He gave us. Pain in the tooth and gums that lingers is often a sign of infection or deeper need that medicine alone cannot fix, and we urge her not to keep putting off care because of a busy work schedule. Even with a tour planned, making time to see a dentist quickly is an act of wise stewardship and could prevent much greater pain and trouble while traveling, especially to a place full of snow and far from familiar care.
We also lift up her upcoming tour with friends that has been planned since last year. We know it is her first time traveling to that place and you desire joy and safety for them. We pray for the Lord's protection over every step of their journey. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:7-8. We ask that God would grant them safe travel without harm until they reach their destination and return, that weather and roads would be kept safe, and that this long awaited weekend would be filled with peace and thankfulness rather than worry. We pray as well that your sister would be freed from anxiety about her pain, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We also hear your own distress about the bad dreams that are running through your mind, the snakes and cats in your bed that would not leave when you chased them, and the unholy dream of an undressed girl, and how you now feel scared to sleep. We agree with you that these are temptations and attacks of the enemy, and we want to gently encourage you to bring them fully into the light before the Lord. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and He desires purity of heart and mind for His children. Whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28, and we are called to Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. Dreams of this kind can reveal areas where we need to guard our eyes and thoughts during the day, to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to fill our minds before sleep with what is true and pure, for Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. If there is any sin that needs confessing, we rest on the promise If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.
We now pray together.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear sister with her tooth and gum pain. Lay Your healing hand upon her, ease her inflammation and pain, restore her gums and teeth to health, lift her low mood, and grant her Your peace that removes worry. Give her wisdom and opportunity to see a dentist promptly and provide the right treatment, and let her be well before and during her tour so she can travel without suffering. Lord, we place her tour and all her friends into Your hands. Cover their journey there and back, keep them from accident and harm on snowy roads, guard their health in the cold, and let this trip they have waited for be joyful and safe for Your glory. And Father, we lift up the one who wrote this request, who is troubled by fearful and impure dreams. Wash away fear, cleanse his mind, forgive any lustful thoughts, and break the power of the enemy over his sleep. Let him lie down in peace and sleep in safety, for You alone make us dwell in safety Psalm 4:8. Fill his nights with Your presence, let Your Holy Spirit guard his heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus, and help him to walk in purity and power and a sound mind. We rebuke every spirit of fear and temptation and ask You to replace them with Your love and holiness. All this we ask in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.
