We join with you in bringing your sister and yourself before our heavenly Father in Jesus name, and we are grateful you closed your request in His holy name, for it is only through Him we have access to God and hope for healing and peace. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We hear your concern for your sister who has suffered with tooth and gum pain for a long time. We understand how ongoing pain wears down the spirit and brings a bad mood and lack of desire to work, and how relying only on pain killers gives just temporary relief. We pray for her complete healing, for God is our healer who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also want to encourage you both with loving truth that while we trust God for healing, He also gives us wisdom to steward the bodies He gave us. Pain in the tooth and gums that lingers is often a sign of infection or deeper need that medicine alone cannot fix, and we urge her not to keep putting off care because of a busy work schedule. Even with a tour planned, making time to see a dentist quickly is an act of wise stewardship and could prevent much greater pain and trouble while traveling, especially to a place full of snow and far from familiar care.

We also lift up her upcoming tour with friends that has been planned since last year. We know it is her first time traveling to that place and you desire joy and safety for them. We pray for the Lord's protection over every step of their journey. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more Psalm 121:7-8. We ask that God would grant them safe travel without harm until they reach their destination and return, that weather and roads would be kept safe, and that this long awaited weekend would be filled with peace and thankfulness rather than worry. We pray as well that your sister would be freed from anxiety about her pain, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also hear your own distress about the bad dreams that are running through your mind, the snakes and cats in your bed that would not leave when you chased them, and the unholy dream of an undressed girl, and how you now feel scared to sleep. We agree with you that these are temptations and attacks of the enemy, and we want to gently encourage you to bring them fully into the light before the Lord. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and He desires purity of heart and mind for His children. Whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28, and we are called to Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. Dreams of this kind can reveal areas where we need to guard our eyes and thoughts during the day, to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to fill our minds before sleep with what is true and pure, for Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. If there is any sin that needs confessing, we rest on the promise If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

We now pray together.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear sister with her tooth and gum pain. Lay Your healing hand upon her, ease her inflammation and pain, restore her gums and teeth to health, lift her low mood, and grant her Your peace that removes worry. Give her wisdom and opportunity to see a dentist promptly and provide the right treatment, and let her be well before and during her tour so she can travel without suffering. Lord, we place her tour and all her friends into Your hands. Cover their journey there and back, keep them from accident and harm on snowy roads, guard their health in the cold, and let this trip they have waited for be joyful and safe for Your glory. And Father, we lift up the one who wrote this request, who is troubled by fearful and impure dreams. Wash away fear, cleanse his mind, forgive any lustful thoughts, and break the power of the enemy over his sleep. Let him lie down in peace and sleep in safety, for You alone make us dwell in safety Psalm 4:8. Fill his nights with Your presence, let Your Holy Spirit guard his heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus, and help him to walk in purity and power and a sound mind. We rebuke every spirit of fear and temptation and ask You to replace them with Your love and holiness. All this we ask in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Thank you for sharing what is on your heart for your sister and for yourself. We can hear how much you care for her as she has dealt with this gum pain for a long time, how the pain medicine only helps for a little while, and how it has left her discouraged and tired. And with her tour with friends coming up soon to a snowy place they have planned for since last year, we understand why you are worried about pain flaring up while they are traveling far from home.

We are joining you in prayer for her comfort and for peace as the trip approaches, and for safety for her and her friends on the road and while they are there.

Since the pain has lingered and work has made it hard for her to get care, we gently encourage helping her find time to see a dentist soon, alongside prayer and not instead of it, before they leave. A quick visit before traveling in winter conditions could help her avoid more trouble on the way, and a professional can see what is really going on.

We also hear how shaken you have felt after those dreams with the snake and cat in your bed and the other troubling images that have stayed in your mind and made you nervous to sleep. It is understandable to feel uneasy when a dream lingers like that.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask for relief from this gum pain and for wisdom to care for it well. We ask for Your protection over her and her friends as they travel and for them to return safely. We also ask You to guard our friend with Your peace at night, to quiet fear and give restful sleep. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and we have carried it to the throne of grace on your behalf and on behalf of your sister.

We hear your concern for your sister who has suffered long with pain in her tooth and gum. Painkillers give only a temporary relief, and you are right to be concerned when her spirits sink and her work is hindered. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue, for it is written, The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings, and healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both bestowed on the Lord's people. We will pray that the Lord in His mercy will ease her pain, give her peace and take away worry, and restore her to cheerfulness and strength. Yet we must also counsel you faithfully, as we very speedily care for bodily diseases which urge us to seek a physician for our healing, so let your sister not neglect the means which God has provided. Though work is busy and a tour is before her, wisdom calls her to seek a dentist without delay, for the Lord often heals by the use of means. We pray that if it be His will He will grant her relief before she travels over snow and distance, that the journey planned since last year may not become a trial through increased pain.

For that tour itself we ask the Lord's keeping. You ask for safe journey and protection from harm on the way until they reach that place of snow, which they visit for the first time. We will entreat the Lord to watch over them on the road, to preserve them from danger and to grant them a peaceful and joyful time, always under His hand. We do not presume upon His protection while walking in ways of our own choosing, but we ask that they may walk circumspectly and return in safety, giving thanks to Him who preserves our going out and our coming in.

Concerning your own soul and the dreams that have affrighted you, the serpent and the cat within your bed and the unholy image of an undressed girl, you have judged rightly that these are temptations and assaults of the enemy which would defile the mind. There is courage in looking temptation in the face and dreading only the evil which it may work in us, and there is also a holy fear, a sacred self suspicion, a dread of contact with sin in any degree. Our Lord taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation, and that prayer exhibits a blessed childlike confidence which tells the Father a fear which grieves us. Though temptation in itself is a thing very dangerous, and trials and distress are perilous, the believer is permitted to tell his Father in heaven about it and to ask for deliverance. You must not for any reason desire to be tried, but must pray, Lead us not into temptation, and then you must not go into temptation, for the man who prays that prayer and then goes into it is a liar before God. Keep your heart with diligence, turn from every unholy image, set your mind upon Christ and upon things pure and lovely, and pray for a clean heart and a right spirit.

And for the fear that now runs in your mind and makes you scared to sleep, hear the word of the Lord which says so plentifully in His garden, Fear not. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. We must labor to get rid as much as possible of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God when it doubts the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth. It will be disobedience to be afraid when Jesus Himself whispers to His poor servant, Fear not. Cast your care upon Him before you lie down, ask Him to keep your thoughts and your dreams, and trust His promised strength.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, our great Physician, look in mercy upon this sister afflicted with pain in her tooth and gum. Thou hast healing in Thy wings and even Thy leaves are for healing. Speak the word and relieve her, calm her spirit, take away her heaviness, and grant her rest. Guide her to proper help and make the means effectual. Keep her and her friends in their travels through snow and distance, preserve them from all harm and bring them safely to their place and safely home again, that they may rejoice with thanksgiving. And Lord, look upon this anxious one troubled by evil dreams and temptations. Forgive sin, cleanse the imagination, wash the heart in the blood of Christ, and give victory over every unholy thought. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Remove fear, grant quiet sleep, and let Thy peace which passeth all understanding keep heart and mind through Christ Jesus. We ask this not for our merit but for the sake of Jesus Christ alone, who is our only salvation and our healing. Amen.
