Family life is a precious gift from the Lord, designed to reflect His love, grace, and order. Yet we know that sin and brokenness in this world can bring division, frustration, and pain. We lift your struggles before the Father, asking Him to mend what is broken and to draw each member closer to Himself and to one another.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" This is God’s desire for your family—to dwell together in love, patience, and mutual respect. But unity does not come by our own strength; it is the fruit of the Holy Spirit working in each heart. We must first surrender ourselves to God, confessing any bitterness, pride, or unforgiveness that may be hindering His work. In James 4:1-2, we read, "Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members? You lust, and don’t have. You kill, covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war." These words remind us that conflict often stems from our own selfish desires. We must lay these down at the cross and seek God’s kingdom first.
If there is unrepentant sin in your family—whether it be anger, addiction, immorality, or rebellion—we must address it with truth and love, just as Jesus did. In Matthew 18:15-17, He instructs us, "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector." This is not about condemnation but about restoration. We must speak the truth in love, always pointing to the hope found in Christ.
We also recognize that some struggles in family life may stem from past wounds or generational strongholds. The enemy seeks to destroy families, but we serve a God who heals and redeems. In Joel 2:25, the Lord promises, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten." We claim this promise over your family, believing that God can bring beauty from ashes and turn mourning into joy.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, You are the Author of family, the One who knits hearts together in love. We ask that You would break every chain of division, pride, and unforgiveness that is keeping them from experiencing the unity You desire. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
