The fever of trial has touched your household, but remember how Christ took Peter’s mother-in-law by the hand and not only drove out the fever but restored her to full health in an instant, needing no lingering recovery. Do not judge by the appearance of a darkened emergency room; He who made a whole man sound on the Sabbath can make the broken whole again. I join your prayer that His healing power rest upon your loved one lying ill, and upon the one who carried her in love. May the Lord unite your family under the covering of Christ’s love, wherein every division melts away. Stand sober, for many who seemed insensible to hope have afterwards been restored at a single stroke of grace. Let us entreat the Physician of souls and bodies with speed, as I sent Epaphroditus without delay to relieve anxiety by his very presence. So may Christ lift up the hands that hang down, give health where sickness reigned, and make you a faithful servant of the Heavenly Father, now and unto the ages. Amen.

Your request is precious to the Father, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer right now. You don’t have to inform God of what’s happening, because He already knows the need and He cares deeply for each one involved. He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and He longs to become for her exactly what she needs in this moment. When crisis strikes, we have immediate access to His throne, because prayer is built on a relationship where we can call Him Father. That relationship opens the door for Him to act freely, not violating anyone’s will, but gently working out His perfect plan as we invite Him in.

We’re praying for the dear one in the emergency room. We ask for healing and restoration, that His strength would uphold her body and His peace would calm her spirit. We also lift up the one who took her, asking for compassion, stamina, and a deep sense of Christ’s presence alongside them. It’s a beautiful thing when we bear one another’s burdens, and the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous accomplishes much. When two or three agree on earth, it will be done. So you are not carrying this alone; the whole body of Christ can stand with you in agreement, trusting that the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise her up.

But even more than physical relief, prayer aligns our hearts with the Father’s will. He desires our eternal good, and His kingdom purposes are always higher than our momentary comfort. So while we ask boldly for healing, we also surrender to His wisdom, knowing that He loves her more than we ever could. Let this be a time where you lean hard into that relationship, pouring out your heart, worshiping Him for who He is, and resting in the truth that you are not forgotten. His love unites us, just as you prayed, under Jesus Christ. You are family, and we are with you.
