FOR DELIVERANCE

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We hear your cry for deliverance and stand with you in seeking God’s strength to resist temptation. The battle against sin, especially sins of the flesh, is real, and we know how fiercely the enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame and bondage. But take heart: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

First, we must address the name you’ve invoked. While you’ve called upon "Jehovah God," we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so, confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of salvation. Without Him, we have no authority to stand against sin.

Now, regarding the sin of sexual perversion: Scripture is clear that such desires are not part of God’s design. "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error" (Romans 1:26-27 WEB). This is not a condemnation of the person, but a call to repentance and holiness. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and He offers forgiveness and transformation to all who turn to Him.

We rebuke the spirit of perversion in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that your mind, body, and spirit belong to Christ, and we plead the blood of Jesus over every thought, memory, or temptation that seeks to enslave you. "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). You are not defined by this struggle, you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and He is making all things new.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. We lift up our brother/sister who is fighting this battle, and we ask for Your deliverance and strength. Lord, You know the depths of this struggle, and You are greater than any temptation. We ask that You break every chain of sexual sin and perversion in their life. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness.

Father, we pray for an increase in faith, as they have asked. Strengthen their resolve to resist the enemy, just as Jesus resisted Satan in the wilderness. Remind them that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Surround them with godly accountability and fellowship, so they are not isolated in this fight.

Lord, if there has been any unrepentant sin, reveal it to them. Give them the courage to confess and turn away from it, knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Renew their mind with Your Word, that they may no longer conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2).

We thank You, Jesus, for Your victory on the cross. We declare that this sin has no power over our brother/sister, for they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). We speak life, healing, and freedom over them. May they experience the peace that surpasses all understanding as they draw near to You.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

You are not alone in this fight. We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, particularly passages that speak to God’s design for sexuality and His power to redeem. Meditate on Psalm 51, which is a prayer of repentance and restoration. Seek out a trusted, biblically grounded pastor or counselor who can walk with you in accountability. And remember: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). The enemy wants you to believe you are powerless, but in Christ, you have all the authority you need to stand firm. Keep fighting, and never lose hope, your freedom is coming!

We've been right where you are, aching to overcome a pattern of sin that seems to roar back no matter how much we want to resist. Thank you for honestly asking for stronger faith. That longing itself is the Spirit at work in you.

Some battles with sexual sin are more than a matter of willpower. They can become deeply ingrained, sometimes fueled by loneliness, old wounds, or even a cycle that feels addictive. If you've tried praying and pushing through alone and still feel stuck, that's not a sign of weak faith; it may be God's nudge to let other trusted people into the fight. Faith grows when we stop carrying a struggle in secret. Is there a mature Christian you could ask to walk alongside you, someone to call when temptation strikes, who'll pray with you and speak truth without shaming you? Such accountability takes the air out of the enemy's schemes.

You might also consider a local support group (like Celebrate Recovery) or a Christian counselor who understands these struggles. Seeking help is not defeat; it's wisdom. And in those raw moments, instead of just trying to suppress every thought, which often backfires, try replacing the noise. Turn on worship music, call that friend, or step outside for a walk while speaking to Jesus about what you're feeling. He's not surprised by your battle, and He's right there with you.

Please let us pray with you now.

Father, thank You for this one who is honest about the fight and desperate for more of You. You see the exhaustion and the shame, and You are not ashamed of us. Strengthen the faith You've already planted, a steady, confident trust that You will break every chain. Give courage to reach out for help and to believe that change is possible. In the quiet moments of temptation, be their refuge. Heal any hidden wounds that keep fueling this pattern, and renew their mind to be fixed on You. In Jesus' name, amen.

You cry out for deliverance from the sin that entangles, and your plea for an increase of faith is the very breath of the Spirit within you. This is well, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification; as we are justified through Jesus Christ, so from Him must we receive sanctification from a heavenly source. The sin of sexual perversion is a fiery dart of the wicked, and there is but one shield that can quench it.

Take unto you the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Faith, even if it be as a grain of mustard seed, is a precious gift of God, and it is the instrument by which we overcome. Do not despise the littleness of your faith, for it is true faith if it begins and ends with Jesus. Little faith, like David’s sling, has slain the giant; like Ehud’s left-handed dagger, it has worked deliverance.

You say you would resist, but cannot trust? Then cast yourself upon the finished work of Christ. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! He has found a ransom; the deliverance is certain, for the time of mercy struck when that ransom was accepted.

Look to Jesus, not merely for forgiveness, but for the power to walk in purity. He feels that if he ever rises from his despondency, the sinner can never dare to take an atom of the honor of deliverance to himself, it must be of free grace only. He can do nothing, and he knows it! This is a blessed posture.

When you are weak, then are you strong, for Christ’s strength is made perfect in weakness. Do not let the enemy whisper that God’s ear is shut; that arrow is often shot, but it is a lie. Faith comforts the tried child of God by assuring him of the forgiveness of his sin and his security from punishment. The doctrine of final perseverance is bound up with the gospel itself; He who began a good work will carry it on to completion.

Therefore, lift up the hands that hang down. Faith can see an end and limit where nature’s dim eyes see endless confusion. Continue to resist, steadfast in the faith, and you shall yet sing songs of deliverance, for He who brought you forth when the Lamb was slain will make your deliverance effectual.
