We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this cry for deliverance and encouragement. The battle has been long, and the weight of affliction can feel unbearable at times. But we declare together that our God is a deliverer, a strong tower, and a very present help in times of trouble. The enemy may seek to oppress and discourage, but we stand on the promise that "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4 WEB).
First, we must address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB). This is the first step toward true deliverance and freedom.
Now, let us rebuke every spirit of affliction, oppression, and bondage in the mighty name of Jesus. We command every chain to be broken, every yoke to be destroyed, and every stronghold to be torn down. The Word of God declares, "He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18 WEB). We stand on this promise and declare that the Son has set you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36 WEB)!
We also recognize that affliction can sometimes be a result of unrepentant sin or areas in our lives where we have not fully surrendered to God. Let us examine our hearts and confess any sin that may be hindering our deliverance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We encourage you to walk in repentance and holiness, for "without holiness, no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14 WEB).
We pray now for your complete deliverance and freedom. Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your mighty hand to move on behalf of Your child. Break every chain of affliction, Lord. Release them from the grip of the enemy and fill them with Your peace, joy, and strength. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Surround them with Your angels and let Your presence be their comfort and shield.
We also pray for encouragement to fill their heart. Remind them that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20 WEB). Let them feel Your love in tangible ways, Lord. Speak to them through Your Word, through godly counsel, and through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 WEB).
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, even when the battle rages on. Remember that "our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17 WEB). This season of struggle is temporary, but the glory that awaits you is eternal. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB).
Continue to seek God’s face through prayer, fasting, and the reading of His Word. Surround yourself with believers who can stand with you in prayer and encouragement. And remember, "the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB). You are not alone in this battle.

We’ve sat with people who have fought hidden battles for years, long enough to feel more weary than hopeful when they ask for prayer yet again. That kind of endurance matters, even when it doesn’t feel like progress.
Sometimes we expect deliverance to arrive as a single, dramatic event, a moment when everything breaks and we walk out completely free. For some it does happen that way. But far more often, lasting freedom unfolds step by small step, more like learning to walk than like being airlifted out of a pit. That doesn’t mean God is slow or absent. It means He is building something solid in you while He loosens the grip of what has held you. The enemy wants you discouraged by the timeline. Don’t give him that ground.
One of the most practical things we’ve seen help in long battles is refusing to fight alone. Is there one or two mature believers you trust enough to walk with you through this, people who will pray with you in person, not just from a distance, and who won’t be shocked by the struggle? Secrecy and isolation feed oppression; simple, steady companionship with praying friends weakens it. That step alone can shift the dynamic.
We are asking the Lord to strengthen you deeply right now, not just to remove the affliction in a flash, but to plant real courage and fresh hope inside you for whatever stretch of the road remains.
Jesus, this child of Yours has fought long and is tired. Meet them in the weariness. Where lies have lodged deep, bring Your truth and break their power in Your perfect timing. There is a cry that rises from the depths of a long-enduring heart, a cry for liberty and deliverance, and it is no small thing when the soul has learned to spell out AFFLICTION in capital letters across a weary life. Yet, let us never seek a cheap encouragement that lowers the truth, for comfort built upon a suppression of reality is a painted fire that gives no warmth. The affliction which drives you to your knees is a rough knife in the hands of the heavenly Gardener; He prunes that you might bear more fruit. Do not stare so fixedly upon the bitter bark that you miss the pith of honey hidden within, sanctified affliction becomes strangely sweet when you learn from the Apostle to call it “light.” Yes, light, not because the burden is a phantasm, but because it is measured against the weight of glory that is yet to be revealed. Our affliction is momentary; the glory is eternal. A single glimpse of that coming weight will make every heavy trial seem but a feather’s touch.
This is the peculiar comfort of the child of God: not the miser’s chink of gold, nor the worldling’s goblet of pleasure, but a whisper from the quickening Word. “This is my comfort in my affliction,” said the Psalmist, “for Your Word has quickened me.” In the lengthened midnight, the Scripture breaks forth like a lamp, and the soul that was ready to perish is revived to run in the path of obedience. You have cried for freedom; there is no liberty like the enlargement of heart that comes when the Spirit blows upon the written page and you rise to walk in the statutes of the Lord. His yoke is easy, His burden is light, and to serve Him is to dance in fetters that fall away.
Open your mouth wide in prayer, for the Lord who bids you ask great things has not filled your mouth with gravel but with arguments. “It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction,” said David when Shimei cursed him, and he would not permit a sword to still the trial. He saw that the black side might yet be the bright one, for God’s pity often stoops to the very point of our sharpest sorrow. The Lord may repay you with good for every cursing ache. Have you not crossed a Jabbok before, full of trembling, only to meet an Esau whose kiss broke the storm? Tell it to the winds and the sea no more; carry your griefs to the Throne, and wait with expectant faith. Deliverance will come from the right hand of the Most High. And when it does, what a song of gratitude will be yours! Not the timorous note of a slave unchained, but the jubilant psalm of one who has found that affliction was the vestibule of glory, and patience the porch of joy eternal.
