We understand your heart’s longing for a child, and we join you in bringing this deep desire before the Lord. The Bible tells us that children are a heritage from Him, a reward from His hand (Psalm 127:3). We know this season of waiting can be difficult, but we encourage you to trust in God’s perfect timing, for He is the one who opens and closes the womb (Genesis 29:31, 30:22). His ways are higher than ours, and His plans for you are good, even when they unfold differently than we might hope.
We also want to gently remind you that marriage is a sacred covenant, and in this season of waiting, it’s important to continue nurturing your relationship with your wife. Love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), cherishing her, and walking together in faith. Let this time draw you both closer to the Lord and to one another, for He is your strength and refuge.
If there are any areas in your lives—whether in health, faith, or obedience—that need surrender to God, we urge you to seek Him wholeheartedly. The Bible calls us to present our requests to God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), trusting that He hears and will answer according to His will.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this couple before You, asking for Your mercy and grace in their longing for a child. Lord, You are the Creator of life, the One who knits together every child in the womb (Psalm 139:13-14). We ask that You open the womb of this wife, if it is Your will, and grant them the joy of parenthood in Your perfect timing. Strengthen their faith as they wait, and fill their hearts with peace that surpasses understanding. Help them to trust You fully, knowing that You see their tears and hear their prayers.
Father, we also pray for their marriage—may it be a reflection of Your love, rooted in patience, kindness, and selflessness. Bind them together in unity, and let their home be a place of worship and hope. If there is anything in their lives that is not aligned with Your will, convict them by Your Spirit and lead them to repentance.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in their lives. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel if this season of waiting becomes overwhelming. Sometimes, the Lord uses medical professionals or wise believers to bring about His purposes. But above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Stand firm in hope, for our God is faithful.
