We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Him in prayer. Father, we know that You are the God of peace, not of confusion, and we ask that You would calm anxious hearts and bring clarity in this moment of decision. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Lord, we ask that You pour out Your peace upon this family as they seek Your will in this housing decision.
We also recognize the importance of unity in marriage, as Scripture tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:9, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor." Lord, we pray that You would bring alignment between this husband and wife, that they would be of one mind and one spirit as they make this decision together. Help them to communicate openly and honestly with one another, and to seek Your wisdom above all else.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and indecision that seems to be at work here. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that You would replace fear with faith, and confusion with clarity. Guide them, Lord, to the housing option that is best for their family, and give them the courage to move forward in faith.
We also want to address the urgency of this situation. Lord, we know that You are not bound by time, but we also know that You understand our human limitations. We ask that You would provide resolution quickly, and that You would give this family the strength to endure this stressful time. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lastly, we want to encourage this family to seek You first in all things. In Matthew 6:33, You tell us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Lord, we pray that this family would seek Your Kingdom above all else, trusting that You will provide for their needs.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You now. Calm their hearts, bring clarity to their minds, and guide their steps. Give them the wisdom to make the right decision, and the courage to move forward in faith. We pray that You would close the door on the wrong option, and open the door to the one that is best for them. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In the midst of this stress, remember that the Lord is your strength. Psalm 55:22 tells us, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." You are not alone in this decision, and the Lord is with you every step of the way. Trust in Him, and He will guide your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
