Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. It is understandable to feel worried before such an important exam, especially when you have been working so hard every day. God sees your diligence and He cares about the burden you are carrying.
Jesus taught very clearly that worry has no real value. It does not add anything to your life and it does not solve the problem in front of you. Worry and faith cannot live together in the same place. When we worry, it shows we are struggling to trust that our Father knows what we need. He reminds us to look at the birds and the lilies. They do not worry about what they will eat or what they will wear, yet your heavenly Father feeds and clothes them. Your life and your future are worth far more to Him, and He knows exactly what you need.
Most of our worry is about tomorrow and what is still ahead, while today is already in His hands. Jesus said not to be anxious about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own concerns and today has enough for us to walk through with Him. Often we find that when we finally arrive at the place we were worried about, God has already gone before us and made a way. Worry is simply a needless spending of strength and time.
Instead of carrying the worry, God invites you to turn it into prayer. Scripture says to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to let your requests be made known to God. That means bringing this exam, your preparation, your fears about the outcome, and your hopes for the future directly to Him, and thanking Him that He hears you. As you commit it to the Lord and trust Him and seek His kingdom and righteousness first, He promises a peace that goes beyond understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, even when circumstances are still difficult.
You can place this whole matter in His hands and say, Lord, this is Yours, please take care of it. As you trust Him and continue to do the good work He has given you to do, He will sustain you.
Let us pray together. Father, we bring this dear one before You. You know the long hours of study, the effort, and the worry about this exam. We ask that You would lift the weight of anxiety and replace it with Your peace. Help them to rest in Your care, to remember what they have studied, to have clarity of mind and calmness of heart on the day of the exam, and to trust the result to Your good will. Help them to seek You first above all else and to know that You are near and You will provide for every need. In the name of Jesus we ask this, amen.
