FMGE EXAM

We are joining with you in prayer for your FMGE exam and we hear the weight of worry you are carrying even as you are working so hard every day. Your diligence is commendable and we want to encourage you to see your hard work as an offering to the Lord.

We want to remind you what God says about anxiety and worry. Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Also 2 Timothy 1:7 says, For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. It is natural to feel anxious before such an important exam, but God invites you to cast that burden on Him and receive His peace as you continue to prepare.

We also rejoice in your diligence. Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established. And Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. As you study, remember you are ultimately serving and honoring God with the mind and abilities He has given you. James 1:5 says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We will pray for clarity of mind, for recall, for understanding, and for wisdom as you review and as you sit for the exam.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and peace with Him. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name not only for this exam but for eternal life. It is in His name we pray and are heard.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the long hours, the sacrifice, and the worry about the FMGE exam. We ask You to grant peace that surpasses understanding to guard this heart and mind. Remove the spirit of fear and replace it with power, love and a sound mind. Grant wisdom, understanding, and excellent recall of all that has been studied. Help this one to rest well, to study effectively, and to commit every effort to You. We pray for favor on the day of the exam, for calmness, for clarity, and for the ability to answer well. Above all, we pray that Your will be done and that this life would bring glory to You, whatever the result, trusting that You have good plans for those who love You. Draw this one closer to Jesus and let this season deepen faith and dependence on You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue working faithfully while also taking time to pray, to rest, and to trust the Lord with the outcome. He is with you in your preparation and He will be with you in the examination hall.

We hear how much this FMGE means to you and how faithfully you have been showing up day after day to prepare. Carrying that kind of effort along with worry is exhausting, and it is understandable to feel on edge when so much is at stake.

Your diligence matters, and the worry you feel does not mean you are failing. It often comes when we care deeply and want to do well. In these weeks it can help to keep your preparation sustainable, working from a simple plan and letting a trusted friend, family member or mentor know how the pressure is feeling so you are not carrying it alone. If you notice the worry becoming overwhelming or affecting your sleep and health in a strong way, please reach out to a counselor or medical professional alongside prayer.

We are holding you in prayer for steadiness, clarity of mind as you review, and peace as you trust God with the outcome.

Father, we lift this student to you, you see the hours of work and the concern on their heart. Grant calm, clear thinking and rest, and help them to do their best and leave the results in your hands. Give wisdom for each day of study and nearness in the moments of worry. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your earnest request concerning the FMGE examination has been heard and has been brought before the Lord in prayer, with thankfulness for the diligence you have shown in your labours day by day.

It is right that you should work hard and be prudent in your studies, for the Lord would have us faithful in the duties He places before us. Yet when you have done your best with the strength He gives you, do not give way to worry and distress of mind. Our Saviour says to us, do not be anxious about these things, and there is wisdom in His word, for the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. What you can do, do with all your might as unto the Lord, and what you cannot do, leave quietly in His hands.

You speak of being really worried, and the Lord knows that burden. Hear His gracious promise, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This peace is not a false peace, but a true blessing purchased by the blood of Jesus and wrought in the soul by the Holy Spirit. It is His own peace, calm and profound, which He leaves with His people. Even when duties press and sorrows surge round, on Jesus bosom nothing but calm is found. Bear your care with Him, stay your mind upon Him, and He will keep you in that perfect peace while you wait upon Him.

Remember also that He who has begun a good work will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. If He has called you to this path and given you grace to persevere in it, trust Him to perfect that which concerns you. Perseverance is not in your own strength alone, but in His faithful keeping. He will not withdraw His gift, and He will sustain those who look to Him.

Let us pray for you.

Our heavenly Father, we thank You for this dear one who has laboured with diligence and with an earnest desire to do well. You see every hour of study, every anxious thought, every weariness of heart. We ask You to grant calmness of mind and clearness of thought, to keep this Your child in perfect peace as trust is stayed upon You. Grant favour in this examination, grant memory and understanding to be ready in the hour of need, and above all grant contentment to rest in Your good and wise will. Let the outcome be for Your glory and for lasting good. Keep from fretting and fear, and fill the heart with the peace which passes all understanding through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Go on, then, with steady hope. Do your work faithfully, pray continually, and leave the result with Him who does all things well. The Lord bless you and keep you, and cause His peace to rule in your heart in the days before you and in the day of your examination.
