You fly upon the wings of the wind, and your heart is fluttering like a frightened bird within you. But remember, it is written, “Do not be like the birds, high up in the air, always on the wing, unsettled and uncertain, ever flying about and never at rest.” Anxiety never comforted a single soul, nor brought the smallest morsel to the barrel. It unfits you for the very trial you face, and for the calm your daughter needs to see in you. Cast that burden upon Him whose hand upholds all things, for He is able to keep you from falling, yes, to keep your vessel aloft in the skies as securely as He holds the stars in their courses. Our safety lies in our Savior: God our Savior, who needs infinite wisdom to keep His children from evil, yet is as able as He is wise. He shall present you faultless, and your little one too, before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. What are wind and turbulence to Him? His throne might sooner fail than a saint can perish, for that throne is established in righteousness.
Consider Daniel. When the lions’ den gaped wide, not one jot of anxiety did he betray; his faith was steadfast, his composure unruffled. The very lions could not muzzle his trust, for his eye was fixed upon the Keeper of Israel. So now, fix your gaze upon Jesus, who holds you and your daughter in the hollow of His hand. Let your prayer be not a flurry of fears, but a steady resting in His power. He blesses the plane, the pilots, the crew, yes, every passenger, whether they know it or not. The flight may be swift, but His love is swifter still; nothing shall separate you from it, come fair or come foul. In righteousness you shall be established, far from oppression and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Therefore, breathe peace to your daughter, not by striving, but by abiding in the calm of the unshaken Rock. The devil may be wide awake, but your Savior neither slumbers nor sleeps. He who has promised to present you faultless can surely present you safely to your journey’s end. Rest in Him, and let your heart be calm.
