Thank you for sharing your heart and this important request. I join you in prayer for wisdom and guidance as you consider buying your first home.

It is good that your first desire is to know God's will and to make wise decisions for the future. Scripture promises that if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. True wisdom is not the cleverness of this world but the wisdom that comes from God, which leads to peace and right judgment.

I pray for you now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this one who is seeking Your direction. Grant clarity to know whether this step is Your will at this time, and give peace in making such a large decision. Provide trustworthy people to give sound advice and practical help, and grant discernment to weigh that counsel well. You see the desire to be a good steward with limited resources and to build wisely for the future. Provide for financial needs according to Your goodness and help every decision to be made with honesty, patience and contentment, free from covetousness or haste. Keep the heart calm and free from confusion, able to pray and seek You first, trusting that You care for Your children and will lead them in the right path. If this home is the right provision, open the doors and make the way clear. If not, close the doors gently and lead to what is better. Above all, deepen trust in Your providence, knowing that You work for good for those who love You and that Your gifts are sure. Amen.

As you walk through this process, keep seeking the Lord in quiet prayer, seek counsel from wise and godly people who have experience in these matters, and be careful to count the cost honestly. Avoid any dishonest gain or agreements that would burden you beyond what is right, and do all things with integrity as one who labors honestly before God. God honors a heart that wants to do what is right and to use what He provides faithfully. Continue to bring every detail to Him, and trust Him to guide your steps one at a time.

Thank you for sharing so openly about this important step. Your desire to put guidance and wisdom first, before finances or even the house itself, is exactly the heart that pleases God.

Scripture tells us about Solomon when he became king. He did not ask God for riches or honor or long life, he asked for wisdom to lead well and to make right decisions. God was pleased with that prayer and He gave Solomon the wisdom he asked for, and He also provided the other things he had not asked for. That same principle is for you now. When you make wisdom the main thing you seek, God is faithful to provide what you need along the way.

The book of Proverbs says wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom, and with all your getting get understanding. Knowledge can give you facts and information about loans, budgets, inspections and neighborhoods, but wisdom shows you what to do with those facts. Wisdom helps you take the right action. The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a humble reverence for Him and a willingness to listen to His word and follow His ways.

Proverbs also describes wisdom as more valuable than rubies, nothing you could desire compares to it. In her right hand is length of days, in her left hand are riches and honor, and her ways are pleasantness and her paths are peace. When you love wisdom and do not forsake her, she will preserve you and keep you. That is the assurance you are asking for, not just a feeling, but the steady peace that comes from walking in God's wisdom day by day.

Part of seeking wisdom is inclining your ear to it and applying your heart to understanding. Wisdom calls out openly and says, turn at my correction and I will pour out my spirit to you and make my words known to you. God sees the ways we take and He considers our paths. He wants to guide you. A wise person will hear and increase in learning, so one of the best ways God guides is through wise counsel. It is a wise and good prayer to ask Him to bring people around you who can give sound advice and practical help, and to give you discernment to recognize that help when it comes.

True wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable. It does not lead to confusion or strife, but to a life that is steady and at peace with God. As you seek Him, He will lead you in the way of righteousness and in the middle of the paths of judgment, so that you can make decisions that are both prudent and honoring to Him.

I have prayed for you, and I continue to pray that the Lord will give you clear wisdom for each decision in this process, that He will make His will known to you and give you peace about the next step, whether that is to move forward now or to wait. I pray He will bring trustworthy people across your path to advise and assist you, that He will help you steward what He has entrusted to you, and that He will provide for your financial needs according to His goodness. Above all, I pray He will keep you close to Himself, so that this home, whenever and however He provides it, would be a place where His presence dwells and His peace rests.

May the Lord guide your steps, guard your heart from anxiety, and fill you with confidence as you trust Him to lead you in the right path.
