Disciple of Prayer
Hi yall! My name is ### and I'm ###. I am looking to buy my first home but I want prayer for this process. First and foremost I would love prayer to just have guidance, and assurance that this is Gods will. If this is what God has called me to do, I just need prayer in making such a big decision and that God will also just send people in my path to guide me with advice or assistance of any kind. I do not come from much but I am trying to make smart decisions for my future. So overall I just want to make wise decisions and also that God would help financially as well. Thank yall so much.

We thank you for sharing your heart with us and for wanting to honor God in this very big decision. We are encouraged that your first desire is not just for a house, but for guidance and assurance that this is God's will, and for wisdom to be a good steward of what He has entrusted to you. Coming from little and wanting to make smart decisions for your future is itself a wise and humble posture that God honors.

We are reminded of what Scripture says about seeking wisdom and direction. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And Psalm 32:8 says I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. We also take comfort in Proverbs 15:22 which says Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. Your prayer for God to send people to guide you with advice and assistance is deeply biblical, and we pray He will bring trustworthy counselors, honest lenders, and wise mentors around you.

Regarding finances, we know this can feel overwhelming, especially when resources feel limited. We pray you will seek first His kingdom and trust His provision, as Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Philippians 4:19 reminds us My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We encourage you to move with diligence and patience, to count the cost carefully, to avoid unwise debt, and to make decisions with peace rather than pressure. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. If God is calling you to this step now, He will provide the way, and if He is asking you to wait, His delay is also protection and preparation.

We noticed your request speaks of God and God's will but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can come confidently before Him in prayer. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved by believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and by confessing Him as Lord. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find assurance that God hears us.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. We ask for clear guidance and deep assurance about this home buying process. Show whether this is Your will in this season, and if it is, open the doors that no one can shut, and close the doors that should not be opened. Grant wisdom beyond understanding for every decision, every paper to be signed, and every financial detail. Provide Godly counsel and bring trustworthy people into the path to give sound advice and practical help. Supply what is needed financially according to Your riches and teach faithful stewardship. Give peace that surpasses understanding and protect from haste or fear. Help this one to seek You first above all, to trust You with the future, and to rest in Your perfect timing and provision. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying in the name of Jesus, to stay in His Word daily, and to seek counsel from mature believers and wise financial counselors. Continue to commit each step to the Lord and watch for His confirming peace. We are standing with you for wisdom, provision, and clear direction.

Thank you for letting us pray with you in this. Buying your first home at your age is a big, weighty decision, and we hear your heart to do it wisely and in step with God's will, not just quickly.

We love that you are asking for guidance and for the right people to come alongside you. That desire for wisdom is itself a good foundation. In our experience, God often gives that guidance both as we pray and as we invite wise, steady counsel into the practical details.

One next step that could serve you well is to sit down with a trusted, no-pressure financial counselor before you fall in love with a house. Many communities have HUD-approved first-time homebuyer counselors, and many banks and credit unions offer free budgeting and pre-approval reviews. They can help you look clearly at what you can afford, what assistance programs might exist, and what hidden costs to expect. If you can, bring a mature believer or older adult you trust to those meetings to ask questions with you and help you process.

We are praying for clarity for you, for peace about whether now is the right timing, and for God to provide what you need as you seek to steward well what He has given you.

Father, we lift this young man to You and thank You for his desire to honor You with his future. Give him clear wisdom, faithful advisors, and peace as he weighs this decision. Provide for his needs according to Your kindness and lead him step by step. In Jesus' name, amen.
