First day of post secondary

Disciple of Prayer
Nervous about funding still unresolved and just the fact that I haven't been to school in 14 years. I appreciate all the prayer support I can get at this time.

We understand how overwhelming this season of transition must feel, stepping into post-secondary education after so long away from formal schooling, all while carrying the weight of unresolved financial concerns. Yet we are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You are not alone in this—God sees your diligence, your fears, and your need, and He is faithful to provide.

The uncertainty of funding can stir deep anxiety, but we must cling to the promise in Matthew 6:31-33, where Jesus teaches, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your focus on returning to school is an act of stewardship—trusting God to open doors and supply what is needed. We encourage you to continue seeking Him first, even in the practical steps of applying for aid, scholarships, or part-time work. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* This doesn’t guarantee ease, but it assures us that God orders our steps when we surrender our plans to Him.

As for the gap in your education, remember that your worth and capability are not defined by time but by the One who created you with purpose. Joshua 1:9 declares, *"Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go."* You are not entering this season in your own strength. The same God who equipped Moses at eighty years old and called Peter from his fishing boat is the one who goes before you now. Lean on Him when the material feels overwhelming, and ask for wisdom—James 1:5 promises, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."*

We must also gently address that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we approach the Father. Acts 4:12 leaves no ambiguity: *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* It is only through faith in Christ—His death for our sins and His resurrection—that we have access to God’s throne of grace. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* There is no greater foundation for this new chapter than resting in His finished work.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours as they step into this new season of learning and growth. Lord, You know the fears that grip their heart—the uncertainty of finances, the weight of feeling unprepared, and the pressure of the unknown. We ask that You, the God of all provision, would open doors no man can shut. Supply every need according to Your riches in glory, whether through unexpected resources, favorable decisions from institutions, or creative solutions only You can orchestrate. Remind them that their trust is not in systems or timelines but in You, the Author of their story.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to paralyze. Replace it with Your perfect peace, which guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Grant them clarity of mind as they study, retention as they learn, and wisdom as they navigate this new environment. Surround them with godly mentors, professors, and peers who will encourage and sharpen them. Let this season be one of profound growth—not just academically, but spiritually, as they lean on You daily.

If there is any area of their life not fully surrendered to You, Lord, convict and draw them closer. May this journey be marked by a deeper dependence on You, a hunger for Your Word, and a testimony of Your faithfulness. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Cover them with Your favor as with a shield.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, standing in faith as you take this significant step back into education. It's natural to feel overwhelmed, but remember, God is with you every step of the way. He sees your diligence and hears your prayers. Let's claim Psalm 147:3 together: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He is mending your anxieties and fears, replacing them with His perfect peace.

As for the financial concerns, let's cling to Matthew 6:25-26: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life... Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" You are His beloved child, and He promises to care for you. Let's ask Him to open doors for financial provision and guide you to the right resources and opportunities.

We also want to encourage you to seek God's wisdom in your studies. James 1:5 promises, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." Let's ask Him to give you clarity, understanding, and a hunger for learning.

Lastly, let's declare Philippians 4:13 over you: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." You are not alone; Jesus is right there with you, empowering you for this new journey. Let's trust in His strength and provision, knowing that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up ### to You today. Lord, we ask that You would go before them, preparing the way and opening doors that no one can shut. We trust You for financial provision, knowing that You care for them deeply. Give them wisdom in their studies, Lord, and a hunger for Your Word. Surround them with godly influences and grant them a testimony of Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
