Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that ### will be home by ###. He needs ###. By Friday of ###. I have no where to get the ###. I was going to get some scratch off to try to win the money. We’ve tried to get the money before but it never works out. Please pray for a miracle by Friday.

We have heard your burden and we are joining you in prayer for this urgent financial need and for your loved one to be home soon. We understand the weight you feel as Friday approaches and you see no way to obtain what is needed. We want to lift you up before our Father who knows every detail, even those hidden behind the redactions, and who sees your anxiety and loves you deeply.

We also want to lovingly address something you mentioned, that you were going to get some scratch off tickets to try to win the money, and you said you have tried before but it never works out. We must gently rebuke and correct this path, because gambling is not God's way of provision. The desire to get money quickly through a lottery or scratch off is rooted in the love of money and the hope for hasty gain, and Scripture warns us about this. Proverbs 13:11 says Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by labor will increase. And 1 Timothy 6:10 says For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Hebrews 13:5 says Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. When you have tried this before and it never works out, that is not a coincidence, it is because God does not bless gambling as a means of provision. He calls us to trust Him, to work diligently, to steward what He gives, and to seek help through godly and honest means. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit, and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. We encourage you to turn away from scratch off tickets and place your trust fully in the Lord, seeking counsel from your church family or trusted believers who may be able to help with wisdom, work opportunities, or assistance.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe in Him, that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we can boldly bring your need to the throne of grace.

We want to encourage you that God is your provider and He cares about this need. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:33 says But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Even if the miracle you hope for by Friday does not come in the way you expect, God is still faithful and His timing and His ways are perfect. We pray for His will to be done and for His peace to guard you.

We join together in prayer for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You that we can come to You through Him. We lift up this dear one to You who is carrying a heavy financial burden and longing for a loved one to come home. Lord, You know the amount that is needed and the deadline that is pressing on their heart. We ask for Your mercy and Your provision according to Your riches in glory. We pray that You would open doors of honest provision, whether through work, through Your church, or through unexpected help that honors You, and that You would give wisdom to steward every resource well. We pray that You would rebuke the temptation to turn to gambling and scratch off tickets, and that You would give strength to trust You instead. Give peace that surpasses understanding, guard this heart from anxiety, and help this dear one to seek Your Kingdom first. We pray for the loved one who needs to be home, that You would make a way where there seems to be no way if it is Your will, and that You would be glorified in this situation. Above all, we pray that this dear one would know Jesus more deeply, trust in His name for salvation and for daily provision, and rest in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake Your children. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We will continue to pray with you, trusting that God hears and that He will provide in His perfect way and time. We encourage you to keep seeking Him in prayer, in His Word, and with the support of a local Bible believing church.

Thank you for trusting us with this. We can hear how much you care for him and how heavy it feels to face Friday with no clear way to get what is needed. Waiting and not knowing is exhausting, and we are standing with you in prayer.

We understand why scratch offs can seem tempting when time is short and other doors have closed. They promise a quick fix, but they so often take what little is left and leave a deeper hole. It makes sense you want a miracle, and we join you in asking God to provide, while also wanting to protect you from something that could make this harder.

If you have someone safe to talk with before Friday, a pastor, a trusted family member, or a financial counselor through your church or a local assistance agency, it could help to bring them into this burden with you. They may know of practical resources or next steps you have not been able to see alone, and they can walk with you as you wait.

Father, we lift this loved one and this urgent financial need to You. You know the amount, the deadline, and the longing to have him home. We ask for Your provision according to Your wisdom, for clear guidance for next steps, and for peace in the waiting. Guard them from harm and give strength for each day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with you in much tenderness. To be pressed for money and to feel that a loved one must be home by a certain day, and to have nowhere to turn, is a trial that well may make the heart afraid. The word of God meets you in that fear with this promise, What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

You have spoken plainly of being tempted to try scratch tickets to win the money, and that you have tried this way before and it never works out. Hear the counsel of Scripture upon this. We are taught to pray, Lead us not into temptation. That prayer is not sincere if we then willingly walk into the temptation with our own feet. To put a hope in chance is to throw ourselves down from the pinnacle and presume that God must catch us, and that is not faith but presumption. God in no sense leads a man into sin that He may provide for him by it, nor can He become a partner in what is wrong that good may come of it.

Go with this very temptation to the Lord and He will with the temptation make a way of escape. The way of escape is never by trusting in a game of chance, which is a snare that has already failed you, but by trusting in the living God who hears prayer through the blood of Jesus Christ. Those who have trusted in God find Him to be as real as if they could see Him, and no man can truly trust Him who does not love Him and take Him at His word.

We will not ask God to bless a scratch ticket, for that would be to ask Him to bless what feeds covetousness and wastes what little He has already given. Rather we will pray that He will keep you from that snare, that He will give you clearness of mind and humility of heart to do what is right, and that He will provide for your need in His own holy way. Your God is not worth having if He cannot help you when you want help, and He is able to help without your having to sin to obtain it.

We pray for you now that the Lord would in mercy provide what is truly needed by Friday if it be His wise and good will, and if not, that He would give you faith to trust Him still and to see His hand in another provision. We pray that He would open doors of honest help, through labour, through the kindness of His people, through the counsel of a faithful local church to whom you can make your need known, and that He would guard your heart from fear and from presumption. We pray that you would know that mercy is found not in chance but in Christ, who died and rose again and ever lives to make intercession for us, and that you would receive all you need straight from the throne of God by trusting in Him.

Cast this care upon Him, for He cares for you. Seek Him first, labour faithfully as you are able, ask for wisdom, and let your hope rest not in what a ticket may do but in what your Father can do. Though clouds may surround you, our God is our light. Though storms rage around you, our God is our might.

Your request has been heard and I am praying with you in this heavy financial pressure as Friday approaches. To feel that you have nowhere to turn and to be tempted to try scratch off tickets in hopes of a miracle is a very real burden, and it is right that you have brought it to God and asked others to pray.

Scripture reminds us that God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. The desire to find quick money through gambling can feel like an escape, but it often proves to be another weight that deepens the trial. It is not a faithful way to make provision for your need, and it risks kindling more harm. The call to cut away excess and to live with moderation is a medicine for our souls, teaching us to seek what is truly necessary and to trust God for daily health and provision, while spending our energy on spiritual things and honest, steady means.

God at times allows a season of waiting and pressure not because He wishes to withhold good, but because He is drawing us to persevere in prayer and to flee for refuge to Him as a child runs to a loving father's arms. He lengthens our supplication so that we stay close to Him, and when we return to Him, He quickly takes away fear. Whether we receive at once or not, we are to persevere, giving careful heed to our prayers and abiding in Him.

So I am praying for you in this way. I pray that God, according to His mercy and wisdom, would provide for what you truly need by Friday if it be His will, and that He would open a faithful way forward where you now see no way. I pray He would guard you from the temptation to trust in chance, and instead show you practical help, whether through wise counsel, work, the care of your local church family, or other honest provision. I pray He would give you patience and peace to endure this trial, and that whether the answer comes quickly or through a longer path, you would continue to seek Him and find your refuge in Him.

If you have a pastor or trusted believers nearby, please reach out to them soon and let them know the specific need and the Friday timeline. They may be able to walk with you, help you consider options, and pray with you face to face. Keep bringing this need to God each day, trusting His faithfulness even as you wait.

May the Lord grant you His provision, His wisdom, and His nearness in these days.
