Disciple of Prayer
Hello prayer warrior. I am here to call on everyone to pray for a financial miracle for my son. He is currently on SSDI for COPD and PTSD. He has struggled with his health since he was a child and hospitalized many times for pneumonia. Through his adult life his health has made it difficult to hold a job for any length of time. He only gets $947 a month to live on. His Father and I purchased a 2 apartment house so he would have a place to live with his wife. He has had many struggles over the past 5 years. We lost his twin sister to cancer 5 years ago and it sent him into a very bad state of mind. We have been unable to pay the mortgage for four months and he doesn’t make enough to even pay the electric bill. As his parents at the ages of 72 and 74 we are on a fixed income. We just recently got a forbearance to keep the house which is for 40 years with a $1400 a month payment. ### needs a blessing for a financial miracle from our Lord and Savior. He is very kind hearted and loves God with all his heart. He is a kind soul and would give anyone in need the shirt off his back. He’s been dealt some pretty awful situations in the last five years. I am asking for this financial miracle not only for him but for me to so I can rest assured that he will not be homeless when his father and I pass away. I don’t think we will live 40 years to pay the mortgage. I pray and talk to God all the time. Without God’s love life wouldn’t make any sense. When my daughter was dying of cancer I was in constant prayer for God to save her but He had other plans for her. At first I was mad at God for taking her away from us but over time I believe she is right where she wants to be. ### struggles still with the loss of his twin sister as we all do but there’s a song by Casting Crowns called Scars in Heaven that gives us comfort and peace. I know I’m going on so I will end this prayer request by asking everyone reading this to pray for a miracle for a financial blessing for my son to pay off the mortgage and own the house himself and live comfortably without constant stress wondering where he going to get food and pay the utilities for his home. Please dear God bless ### with your loving heart. Thank Lord and thanks to everyone willing to pray for my son. Amen and Amen. God is good all the time!

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt plea for your son, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, trusting in His provision and sovereignty over all things. Your love for your son and your faith in God’s goodness, even amid suffering, is a testament to the hope we have in Christ. We also grieve with you over the loss of your daughter and the ongoing struggles your son faces—both physically and emotionally. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and promises to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

First, we want to gently address something important: in your request, you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and by whom all prayers must be offered. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that our petitions reach the throne of God. As Scripture declares, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6) and *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our intercessor and the source of all blessings. If you or your son have not yet surrendered your lives fully to Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).

Now, let us turn to the matter of your son’s financial struggles. The Lord is deeply aware of his needs, and we know that He cares for His children more than we can imagine. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* While we pray for a financial miracle, we also encourage your son to seek the Lord’s kingdom above all else, trusting that God will provide as he walks in obedience.

We also recognize the weight of the mortgage and the fear of losing the home you’ve provided for your son. The Lord owns all things, and He is able to provide in ways we cannot foresee—whether through unexpected income, the generosity of others, or even a supernatural intervention. However, we must also consider wisdom in stewardship. A 40-year mortgage at this stage in your lives may not be the most sustainable path forward, and we encourage you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from your church or a trusted financial advisor—about whether refinancing, downsizing, or other options might align better with the resources the Lord has given you. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, *"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed."*

As for your son’s health and emotional struggles, we lift him up for healing and peace. The Lord is the Great Physician, and we ask for restoration over his body and mind. PTSD and COPD are heavy burdens, but we serve a God who is greater than any diagnosis. We pray that your son would find comfort in the promise of 2 Corinthians 12:9, where the Lord says, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."* We also encourage him to seek support—whether through Christian counseling, a support group, or his church community—to walk through his grief and trauma in a way that honors the Lord.

Finally, we want to address the deep fear you carry about your son’s future after you and your husband pass away. While it is natural to worry, we must remember that our God is a Father to the fatherless and a defender of widows (Psalm 68:5). He does not abandon His children. We pray that the Lord would give you peace, knowing that He holds your son’s future in His hands. Trust in the promise of Philippians 4:19: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious family to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the struggles they face—the financial burdens, the health battles, the grief that still lingers, and the fear of the unknown. We ask You, Father, to move in a mighty way. Provide a financial miracle for this son, not just to meet his immediate needs but to secure his future in a way that brings glory to Your name. Lord, if it is Your will, open doors for this mortgage to be paid in full, or provide wisdom and favor for a solution that aligns with Your perfect plan. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:17).

We pray for healing over this son’s body—restore his lungs, Lord, and bring peace to his mind. Comfort him in his grief, and remind him that his sister is safe in Your arms, where there is no more pain or sorrow. Strengthen him to walk in faith, not fear, and surround him with a community that will uplift and encourage him.

Father, we also lift up this mother and father. Ease their hearts as they trust You with their son’s future. Give them wisdom in their decisions and provision in their own lives. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are a good Father who cares for Your children.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that has taken hold in this family. Replace it with Your perfect peace, which transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who gave His life so that we might have life abundantly. May this family draw closer to You through this trial, and may Your name be glorified in their story. Amen.

My son and I have given over our lives over to Jesus Christ many years ago. He is the way, the truth and the light and it is only through Jesus Christ that we are saved by the sacrifice that God made to save us all from sin. A prayer I say everyday is called “Jesus You Take Over”. The song I mentioned called “Scars in Heaven” is about when we get to heaven the only scars in heaven will be on the hands that hold you now, of course. Meaning Jesus. Have no doubt that my entire life since the age of 12 has been dedicated to spreading the word of Jesus to everyone I know. I played piano for many years at church and loving all the hymns that I now play for personal Praise and Worship and my favorites are singing of Jesus and his life and love. All the years I’ve played piano or organ at church were a blessing that I'll always cherish. My son sang in the choir and has a beautiful singing voice and he loves praising Jesus through song. Thank you for pointing out that I failed to talk about Jesus in my original post. We are washed by the blood of the lamb’ Amen!
