Your heart for the person in your home who depends on you, and the weight of facing eviction while trying to keep up with rent, is not hidden from the Lord. He sees the pressure you are under and He cares about these practical needs.
One thing Scripture shows is that God often leaves room for Himself to work even when a situation looks humanly impossible. In the old law there was a ceremony for the cleansing of a person with leprosy, though leprosy had no human cure. God wrote into the law a way to be declared clean, as if to leave the door open for Him to do what no one else could do. Do not put God in a box in this financial need. What feels incurable to us is not beyond Him, and we can give Him allowance to work as He desires, whether through unexpected help, open hearts, or provision we did not see coming.
You asked for favor, and that is a right prayer. The story of Esther reminds us that she found favor with everyone who saw her, and the king extended his scepter to her when she came before him. Yet the proverb also says that many seek the favor of a ruler, but true judgment comes from the Lord. The people you will meet in your appointment have a decision to make, and it is good to pray for favor in their eyes. At the same time, our confidence rests higher, that the Lord Himself is the one who ultimately directs outcomes. He does not show favoritism as people do, favoring the rich over the poor or the poor over the rich, He is no respecter of persons, and He hears the cry of those in need without partiality.
God also understands financial hardship. The early church in Jerusalem went through deep financial distress, and the Lord moved on the hearts of others to share and meet those needs. He is still the same God who sees when His people lack and who provides through many different means.
Above every other provision, God has made one provision for our deepest need, which is forgiveness and peace with Him through Jesus Christ. He is the only way by which our sin is taken away, and the Spirit bears witness to that truth in our hearts. Just as those bitten in the wilderness were told simply to look at what God had lifted up and live, we are invited to look to Jesus in simple faith and be made whole. If you have not already, place your trust fully in Him as your Savior, and know that He accounts righteousness to those who believe.
I am praying for you now, that the Lord would grant you favor with those who review your case, that provision would come quickly to cover what you owe and keep a roof over you and your household, that He would give you strength and grace as you care for your disabled loved one, and that you would know His peace and nearness through Jesus Christ in these pressing days. May He open a clear way forward and sustain you step by step.
