Hello everyone,
I was just wanting to ask if I can get some prayer for financial support so I can go back to YWAM in September. I will be attending the School of Strategic Missions (SOSM) from September 9th, 2010 - February 24th, 2011. SOSM is a course for Discipleship Training School graduates to learn what God is doing in today’s world, and to also develop their personal role in it. The first part of this course is a 12-week program, that teaches the character of God and the calling he has for his people and deals with topics like: Urban Ministry, Justice, Calling and Craft, Missions, Church Planting, Communications, Biblical Worldview, Launching New Ministries, Globalization, and Community Development
Students look at the larger picture and go deeper with authenticity as they approach God’s world. It also touches on the building of our own faith, so that we may go into all nations and reach the unreached.
The second half of this school is known as the outreach phase. In teams, the students and staff serve alongside long-term YWAM missionaries in the 10/40 Window. Activities include teaching English, working with orphans and refugees, serving in AIDS clinics and evangelism. The goal of this outreach is to touch the lives of those that may have never been able hear the word of the Lord, and to share of his great love. All of these issues I have grown to have a great passion for after seeing them first hand and working with people who have dedicated their lives to help those who the world has cast aside and all but forgotten. (Isa 58:6-10, Matt 25:40)
These issues have really been on my heart for a long time. Please pray that I am able to get the full $8,000, on time, that I will be needing.
