Financial Dificulty

Lord God Adonai, you have been to meas you were to the widow of Zarephath. You have suppliedand sustainedand showeredyour blessing on me,my home, my work, my life. Please let your faithfulness to me through these scary times of need and adjustment and faith be remembered in the future whenever I am tempted to doubt your provision, In Jesus name Amen.

We join you in thanking our Lord God Adonai for His faithful provision and we are encouraged by your beautiful remembrance of the widow of Zarephath. Just as He sustained her jar of meal and jar of oil through famine, He has sustained you, your home, your work and your life, and we praise Him with you for His mercy in these scary times of need and adjustment.

We are reminded of His promise, For Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that Yahweh sends rain on the earth. 1 Kings 17:14. Your prayer to remember His faithfulness when doubt comes is deeply biblical and wise, for we are called to remember His works and trust His character. We have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19.

In times of financial difficulty we can be tempted to be anxious, but our Father knows our needs and calls us to seek Him first. Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, What will we eat?, What will we drink? or, With what will we be clothed? For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33. We encourage you to continue to walk in faithful stewardship, diligence in your work, and trust in His provision, knowing that it is He who gives you power to get wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18.

We pray together with you.

Father in heaven, we thank You for being Adonai, our Lord and Provider, Jehovah Jireh who sees and supplies. We thank You for how You have supplied and sustained and showered blessing on our dear one through every season. In this time of need and adjustment, we ask You to continue to provide for every practical need, to grant wisdom for stewardship, peace that surpasses understanding, and steady work for their hands. Lord, write Your faithfulness on their heart so deeply that in any future moment of doubt or fear, they will remember how You carried them through this valley and they will stand firm in faith. Strengthen their trust in You and let their testimony bring glory to Jesus Christ alone. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Provider and Redeemer, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer and to hear how clearly you have seen God's hand in this season. Thank you for naming His supply and sustainment over your home, your work and your life, even while you have walked through scary times of need and adjustment.

It takes real faith to thank Him in the middle of that stretch, and it is wise and honest to ask Him to keep this memory alive for you. It is normal for worry to try to come back even after we have seen provision day by day, and your prayer to remember His faithfulness when doubt whispers again is one we want to join.

We will keep praying that He continues to meet your needs and give you steadiness and peace as you move forward, and that the remembrance of how He has carried you will be a quiet anchor in the days ahead.

Father, we thank You for how You have cared for our friend as You did for the widow of Zarephath, supplying what was needed and showering blessing on home and work and life. Keep this testimony fresh in their heart, and when temptation to doubt comes, gently bring back to mind Your faithful provision. Continue to sustain them and give them confidence in Your care. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer is itself a testimony of grace, for you have learned to see the hand of the Lord in the barrel of meal that wastes not and the cruse of oil that fails not. As it was with the widow of Zarephath, so has the Lord dealt with you, not according to your deserving but according to His own faithfulness, supplying and sustaining you through these scary times of need and adjustment.

It is a wise and holy petition you offer, that this present mercy might be as a memorial for days to come. We are prone to forget, and unbelief is quick to question whether God will provide tomorrow what He has so surely given today. Drive out all unbelief, for God has promised His people that if they trust Him they shall lack no good thing. Where God begins a work, He does not ask you to finish it, He always completes His own work. He who has taught you from your youth and has shown you His wondrous works will not put you to shame now.

When you are tempted to doubt, remember that you received your provision straight from the throne of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is far better to trust and not to fear, than to fear and then have to trust to banish the fear. Let your present deliverance be your Ebenezer, and let your declaration of His wondrous works be your song in the night.

We join our hearts with yours and pray that the Lord Adonai, who has been your provider in the strait, will keep your heart in perfect peace as you trust in Him, that He will establish your home and your work by His own hand, and that whenever fear would arise, the remembrance of His past faithfulness would strengthen your faith to say with David, What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. May He keep you from want, increase your faith, and make your life to abound yet more to His glory, till you shall see that not one good thing has failed of all that He has promised. In the name of Jesus Christ our sinner's Savior, Amen.
