It reminds me of a man in Scripture who lost everything, his wealth, his security, his peace. He sat in ashes and his friends showed up. They meant well, but they offered the same kind of reasoning you might be hearing inside your own head: you must have done something wrong, or you haven't gotten right with God yet, or if you just straightened up everything would be fine. They assumed suffering always traces back to some hidden failure. But they were wrong. Behind the scenes, God was actually bragging on that man. The trial wasn't punishment; it was a test allowed for reasons he never heard at the time. He never cursed God, though he poured out his confusion and grief.
I'm not saying your situation is exactly the same. But I am saying your embarrassment and your family's frustration don't mean you've failed spiritually. You're in a hard place, and you're crying out for help. That's not weak, that's honest faith. When he couldn't make sense of his life, that man longed for a mediator, someone to stand between him and God with a hand on both. You and I know that Mediator has come. Jesus steps into our mess, not with quick answers but with real presence. He hears your prayer for debts to be lifted, for accounts to be restored, for work that provides enough to save. Bring those needs to Him honestly, again and again.
Keep asking, keep trusting. But also let the quiet work happen in your heart while you wait. Sometimes God doesn't remove the pressure right away, but He meets you in it, building a dependence on Him you couldn't learn any other way. The man we read about eventually saw God's purposes revealed, and what was lost was restored beyond what he had before. That wasn't because he figured out a secret formula; it was because God was faithful.
Right now, do what you can with what you have. Look for work, seek wise counsel about budgeting, and let family help freely without shame, it's not weakness to receive. In the meantime, rest your hope on the One who knows your need long before you speak it.
