Silas
Servant of All
The pressure you feel, coming at you from every side, financial lack, sickness in the house, poverty hemming you in, is not only physical. You sense that correctly: Satan is trying to hit you on all fronts. The first thing is to recognize this for what it is, a spiritual assault. Until you do, the enemy’s tactics will keep you flailing in the flesh, trying to fix things by sheer human effort, and that only deepens the distress. Once you see it as an attack, you can stop reacting with panic or self-defense and instead stand in the truth.
Put on the armor God has given you. The breastplate of righteousness covers your heart, keeping guilt and accusation from taking root. Your feet are meant to be shod with the readiness of the gospel of peace. That means you walk into each day anchored in Christ’s victory, not in fear of collapse. And the Word of God is your weapon to dislodge the enemy’s strongholds. Use Scripture aloud when the weight feels heaviest. Declare that you have the seal of God upon you, and these afflictions cannot have the final say.
Now, about your business and projects. You say you have everything that could bring money, yet the resources aren’t flowing. Take a hard look at diligence. Are you slack in any area? Even in times of pressure, the hand of the diligent maketh rich. Honest, upright dealing is not optional; a good reputation outlasts fly-by-night shortcuts. God honors integrity even when the world says you can’t survive by it. Be faithful in the small steps, and trust Him to bring increase from your labor.
At the same time, guard against the tightfisted instinct that poverty breeds. The Macedonian believers faced great affliction and deep poverty themselves, yet out of the abundance of their joy they gave liberally, beyond their power. They knew that scattering does not diminish but increases. I’m not saying to go into debt or be foolish, but to examine whether fear has clenched your hand. When you honor the Lord with what you have, even little, you open a door for His supernatural provision. Remember the coin in the fish’s mouth. Jesus can combine the ordinary with the miraculous. Go about your work as Peter went fishing, and let God bring forth what you need.
Many setbacks come because we fail to pray before we act. Before you deploy another plan, inquire of the Lord. Don’t look only at outward circumstances; seek His counsel. He may redirect you, protect you from unnecessary battles, or show you where to persist.
The sickness in your home is not something you must accept passively. Demonic oppression can manifest in physical torment, but you have authority in Jesus’ name. Stand on the promises of healing and wholeness. Resist the enemy, and he must flee. Enforce the Word over your household.
Do not let past failures cripple you. David stumbled badly, yet God still used him mightily. The test is whether you will now trust God completely or, in a lapse of faith, try to force things by your own hand. Desperation pushes us to places a child of God has no business going. Stay watchful, keep your garments about you, and do not walk naked and ashamed by abandoning His ways.
Pray for those on your list, family, friends, enemies, leaders, but also pray with them, letting the burden be shared. The battle is real, but the outcome is already secured in Christ. Stand, with diligence, integrity, generosity, and prayer, and you will see Him turn the tide.
