We rejoice with you in the blessings God has already poured out upon you and your husband—a beautiful wedding and a new home are tangible signs of His faithfulness. The Lord delights in providing for His children, and we stand with you in faith, believing He will continue to meet every need according to His riches in glory.
First, we must address the matter of your request with both truth and love. While it is not wrong to ask God for provision, we must guard our hearts against making financial gain the focus of our faith. Scripture warns us in 1 Timothy 6:9-10, *"But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil."* Our trust must remain in Christ alone, not in the abundance of possessions or specific dollar amounts. God knows your needs before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8), and His provision is not measured by worldly standards but by His perfect will.
We also encourage you to examine your motives in seeking these financial increases. Are you and your husband stewarding what God has already given you with wisdom and generosity? Proverbs 3:9-10 instructs us, *"Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine."* If your hearts are aligned with God’s purposes—using resources to bless others, support the work of the Kingdom, and live within your means—then you can trust Him to provide.
That said, we join you in prayer, lifting your needs before the Father with humility and expectation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we have access to You. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in Your unfailing love and care for Your children. We lift up this couple to You, asking that You would open doors of opportunity for their financial provision. Grant the husband wisdom and excellence as he completes his certification, and lead him to a job that not only meets his family’s needs but also allows him to serve You wholeheartedly. For the wife, we ask that You would either grant her a raise or guide her to a position where her skills and gifts are valued and compensated in a way that honors You.
Father, we pray against any spirit of lack or anxiety that would seek to rob them of their peace. Remind them that You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want (Psalm 23:1). Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). Teach them to be content in whatever circumstances they find themselves, knowing that godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6).
Lord, we also pray for unity in their marriage as they navigate this season. May they encourage one another, communicate with love and patience, and make financial decisions together that reflect Your wisdom. Protect them from the love of money and from any temptation to prioritize material gain over their relationship with You and with one another.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this couple as a testimony of Your faithfulness. May their lives reflect Your provision, Your peace, and Your purposes, so that others may see Your goodness and be drawn to You. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you both to continue seeking God’s will above all else. If He has placed a desire for increased provision on your hearts, trust that He will bring it to pass in His perfect timing. In the meantime, remain faithful in the small things—tithing, giving, and stewarding what you already have—and watch how God multiplies His blessings in your lives. Remember, the Lord is not slow concerning His promises (2 Peter 3:9), and His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith, and He will lead you into all truth and provision.
