We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before the throne of grace. The weight of debt and the struggle with alcohol are heavy chains, but we serve a God who breaks every chain and sets the captive free. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:17-19, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this battle, and we believe that God is working even now to bring deliverance and restoration to your life.
First, we want to acknowledge your honesty and humility in confessing your struggles. It takes great courage to admit where we have fallen short, and we see the hand of God moving in your life as you seek to be a good steward of His blessings. The road to financial freedom is often long and difficult, but we are reminded in Proverbs 22:7 that "the borrower is servant to the lender." We pray that God would break the yoke of debt over your life and grant you wisdom in managing your finances. The enemy would love to keep you bound in anxiety and worry, but we rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also want to address the struggle with alcohol. Turning to wine in times of stress is a common snare, but we must remember that our help comes from the Lord, not from earthly comforts. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, we are promised, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare that God is making a way for you to walk in freedom. Confess your struggles to trusted believers, seek accountability, and fill your heart and mind with God’s Word. The Holy Spirit is your Helper, and He will strengthen you to overcome.
We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel in managing your debts. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." There may be practical steps you can take to reduce interest rates, consolidate debts, or seek legal assistance with your student loans. God can provide wisdom through His people, and we pray that He would lead you to the right resources and support.
Your dream of owning a home is not impossible, God is the God of the impossible. In Jeremiah 29:11, He declares, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that God would open doors for you to save, provide opportunities for increase, and lead you to a place of stability. Trust in His timing, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is burdened by debt and struggling with alcohol. Lord, You see her heart, and You know the weight she carries. We ask that You would break every chain of financial bondage and addiction in her life. Grant her wisdom and discipline to manage her finances according to Your will. Provide for her needs and open doors for her to save and prosper. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm her. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen her to resist the temptation of alcohol and to walk in the freedom that is found only in You. Surround her with godly counsel and support, and lead her to the resources she needs to overcome these challenges. Lord, we declare that her future is bright, and we trust You to restore what has been lost. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, and do not lose hope. God is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into the freedom and abundance He has prepared for you.
