Finances

It is frightening and overwhelming to suddenly have no money and not know what will happen next, and I am so sorry you and your mom are going through this.

Please know that God is not caught off guard by what happened and He is not in a financial crisis Himself. He does not run out of resources or need to be bailed out. The Bible teaches that He owns all things and that His ability to provide is not tied to a single bank account. When Jesus told a man to take up his bed and walk and the man actually did, it showed that His power is real and present to act in impossible situations. That same power is present for you now, even when the loss feels complete.

Scripture also shows the heart of God to make provision for people in sudden need. Under the law He instructed that those who were hungry could go into a field and eat to satisfy their need, because He had already made a way for the needy to be cared for. Later, when the believers in Jerusalem were in deep poverty and did not have enough to buy food, other believers, though they were poor themselves, gave generously to help them, and that generosity resulted in thanksgiving to God. God often provides through His people, and you do not have to carry this alone. It is right to contact the bank immediately to report the fraud, to file reports where needed, and to let trusted family and your church family know what has happened so they can pray and help in practical ways.

In times of financial pressure it helps to put the Lord first with the need itself. Bring it honestly to Him in prayer, seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and trust Him for daily bread. That does not mean He will always restore things exactly as they were, but it means you can thank Him even now that He sees you, that He cares for you, and that He is faithful to provide what you truly need day by day. He has already made the greatest provision of all for us in the blood of His Son Jesus for our sins, and if we can trust Him with our eternal need, we can trust Him with this earthly need as well.

I am praying for you and your mom, that God will give you wisdom for every call you need to make, that what was stolen would be recovered where possible, that He will open doors for help through others, and that He will give you peace as you trust Him. Ask Him to show you each next step, and keep bringing your worries to Him, for He cares for you.
