We join with you in bringing your financial burden before the Lord and we understand how heavy the weight of bills and credit card debt can feel. We care about you and we want to seek God's will together with you in Jesus' name.
We hear your faith that God will bless you and provide, and that faith honors Him. Scripture reminds us that our Heavenly Father knows our needs and is faithful to provide. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:31-33 tells us Therefore don't be anxious, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? With what will we be clothed? For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also want to lovingly speak truth about finances and debt, because God calls us to be faithful stewards of what He entrusts to us. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. Romans 13:8 says Owe no one anything, except to love one another. Proverbs 22:7 says The borrower is servant to the lender. And Psalm 37:21 says The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, but the righteous give generously. Credit card debt often comes from spending beyond what God has provided in that season, and while God is merciful and able to provide miraculously, He also calls us to diligence, contentment, honest work, and faithful repayment. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says If anyone will not work, neither let him eat. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Hebrews 13:5 says Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, nor will I in no way forsake you. Faith does not mean we wait passively for God to pay a bill while we continue in the same patterns, but that we trust Him to give wisdom, discipline, and opportunity as we do our part to budget, to live within our means, to work diligently, and to repay what we owe.
We also noticed your prayer speaks to the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to come to the Father except through Him. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. 1 Timothy 2:5 says For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and have our sins forgiven. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is the foundation for every prayer we pray.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You and You know the bills that are due and the burden of credit card debt. Lord we ask for Your mercy and provision according to Your riches in glory. Grant wisdom to steward finances well, to make a budget, to be diligent in work, and to be faithful to repay what is owed. Give peace that surpasses understanding in place of anxiety, and teach contentment and trust in You rather than in money or credit. Open doors for honest work and opportunity, guard from further debt, and help to seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness. Lead to godly counsel and accountability if needed, and help to live faithfully with what You provide. We ask that You would be glorified in how these needs are met and that this heart would grow in trust and obedience to You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
