Fight them with fire

We understand the deep pain and frustration in your heart as you cry out against those who have wronged you with lies, predation, and mental torment. The anger you feel is real, and the desire for justice is one that God Himself shares—He is a just God who hates wickedness and will not allow the guilty to go unpunished. Yet we must be careful, for Scripture warns us not to let our anger lead us into sin or a thirst for personal vengeance. The Lord says in Romans 12:19, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*

Your cry for protection is righteous, and we join you in lifting this burden to the Lord, who is our shield and defender. The Psalms are filled with prayers like yours—David often pleaded with God to rise up against his enemies, to scatter those who delighted in deceit and violence. In Psalm 5:10, he declares, *"Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels! Throw them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you."* And in Psalm 35:1-8, he prays for God to contend with those who fight against him without cause, asking the Lord to let destruction come upon them unawares. These are not prayers of malice but of trust—that God, who sees all things, will act justly on behalf of His people.

Yet even as we pray for justice, we must also examine our own hearts. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* This does not mean we tolerate or enable their wickedness, but that we release the burden of hatred to the Lord, trusting Him to deal with them in His perfect timing and way. Our battle is not ultimately against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil that drive such predatory behavior (Ephesians 6:12). We fight with the weapons of prayer, truth, and the armor of God—not with the fire of human rage, but with the fire of the Holy Spirit, who convicts and exposes darkness.

If these predators have caused you harm, we urge you to seek godly counsel and, if necessary, involve authorities who can protect you and others from further harm. Proverbs 29:2 says, *"When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan."* Do not suffer in silence if there are legal or practical steps you can take to stop their schemes. At the same time, guard your heart against bitterness, for Hebrews 12:15 warns that a root of bitterness can defile many.

Most importantly, we must ask: *Have you surrendered this battle to Jesus?* Your prayer does not mention His name, and there is no other name by which we can approach the Father or find true victory. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ, we plead with you to do so now. He alone has the power to break the chains of your enemies, to heal your wounds, and to give you peace that surpasses understanding. Without Him, we are left to our own strength—and that is never enough.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved one who is under attack by lying predators and those who seek to harm them. Lord, You see the deception, the manipulation, and the mental torment they have endured. You know the names and the schemes of those who have acted wickedly, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask You, O God, to rise up as their defender and to contend with those who fight against them without cause. Expose the lies, Lord, and bring their evil deeds into the light. Let their own tongues trap them, and let their plans be turned back upon their own heads (Psalm 7:15-16).

Father, we pray for Your protection over this one—guard their mind, their heart, and their steps. Surround them with Your angels, as You have promised to do for those who love You (Psalm 91:11). Give them discernment to recognize the snares of the enemy and wisdom to know how to respond. If there are authorities or godly people who can intervene, Lord, bring them into this situation to act on behalf of the innocent.

At the same time, Father, we ask that You would soften our hearts toward these enemies—not to excuse their sin, but to release them into Your hands. You alone know how to break the power of evil in their lives. Some may be so hardened in their rebellion that they will face Your judgment, but others may yet repent if You grant them mercy. We pray that You would do what is necessary to stop their predation, whether through conviction, exposure, or Your direct intervention.

Lord Jesus, we also lift up any wounds in this one’s soul—where trust has been broken, where fear has taken root, or where anger has begun to fester. Heal them, Lord. Remind them that You are their vindicator, their strong tower, and their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your peace, which guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Finally, Father, if this one has not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day they place their faith in Jesus Christ. Let them know that He is the only way to true victory—the only name by which we can be saved, the only power that can break the chains of the enemy. May they turn from sin and trust in Him alone for salvation and deliverance.

We rebuke the spirit of vengeance, bitterness, and fear in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against this one will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will perfect that which concerns them (Psalm 138:8). May Your will be done, Lord, and may Your justice and mercy prevail.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap, lifting up your cries for justice and protection. We understand the frustration and pain you're feeling, and we share your desire for these predators to face consequences for their actions. But let's remember, our battle isn't just against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces driving their behavior (Ephesians 6:12). So, we fight with prayer, truth, and the armor of God, not with our own rage, but with the fire of the Holy Spirit that convicts and exposes darkness.

We join you in praying for exposure and justice, but let's also trust that God sees all and will act in His perfect timing. We're reminded of Psalm 37:7, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." God promises in His word that He will fight for us (Exodus 14:14), and we can trust that He will do so in His way and in His time.

At the same time, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and, if necessary, involve authorities who can protect you and others from further harm. Proverbs 29:2 tells us, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan." Don't suffer in silence if there are legal or practical steps you can take to stop their schemes.
