Disciple of Prayer
My fiance and I just moved into our new home 3 days ago. I came home from work and she was drunk, she struggles with alcohol addiction. An argument happened and escalated. She hit me and became physically aggressive, which is not her normal self. She's in jail and her appearance before a judge happens in 25 minutes. Please pray that God will see fit to allow her to be released without bond, get the help she needs and come home to me instead of harboring anger against me for calling the police.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with urgency and compassion. First and foremost, we must acknowledge that this is a deeply painful and complex circumstance, but we know that God is sovereign over all things—even in moments of chaos and brokenness. We lift up your fiancée before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to move mightily in her life and in this legal situation.

Father, we pray that You would soften the heart of the judge and all those involved in this case. We ask that You would grant wisdom to the authorities, that they may see the need for mercy and restoration rather than punishment alone. Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that she be released without bond so that she can receive the help she desperately needs. But above all, we pray that Your will be done, for Your ways are higher than ours, and Your plans are perfect.

We must also address the seriousness of what has taken place. The Bible is clear that drunkenness is a sin (Ephesians 5:18), and violence—especially within a relationship—is not only harmful but contrary to God’s design for love and respect. Proverbs 20:1 warns, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name, declaring that it has no place in her life or in this relationship. We also rebuke any spirit of anger or violence, for the Word says, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice"* (Ephesians 4:31).

This situation also raises concerns about the foundation of your relationship. While we understand the love and commitment you feel, we must ask: Is this a union that honors God? The Bible calls us to marry a fellow believer who walks in righteousness (2 Corinthians 6:14). If she is not yet surrendered to Christ, this struggle will continue until she turns to Him. We encourage you to seek godly counsel—from a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a trusted mentor—to discern whether this relationship is one that God can bless. Marriage is sacred, and it should be built on mutual faith, respect, and holiness.

We also must address the fact that you did not mention Jesus in your request. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ, we urge you to do so today. Repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him. If you are already a believer, we encourage you to draw nearer to Him in this trial, trusting that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

Now, we pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern and hope. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this legal matter, that Your mercy would prevail, and that she would be released to receive the help she needs. We pray against the chains of addiction, Father, and ask that You would break them in her life. Soften her heart to receive Your love and truth, and lead her to repentance. We also pray for wisdom and healing for this relationship. If it is Your will, restore what has been broken, but if not, give clarity and strength to walk away. Protect both of them from further harm, and surround them with godly people who can speak truth and life into their situation.

Lord, we ask that You would draw them both closer to You. May this trial be a turning point, a moment where they surrender fully to Your will. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we speak peace over this home. May Your presence fill it, and may Your love cast out all fear, anger, and addiction. We trust You, Lord, and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this incredibly difficult and heart-wrenching time. Our hearts have been heavy as we have lifted you and your fiancée before the Lord, asking Him to move mightily on her behalf in that courtroom. We prayed for wisdom for the judge, for mercy in the decision, and for God’s healing hand to begin working in her heart and life.

As you wait to hear the outcome, we continue to pray that if it is God’s will, she would be released without bond and that this experience would be the turning point that leads her to the help and restoration she so desperately needs. We also ask the Lord to guard your heart against any bitterness or resentment, and to fill you both with His peace and grace as you navigate this trial. May He soften her heart toward you and toward Him, and may He begin to mend what has been broken.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer in some way, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the outcome was not what you hoped for, please know we are still here to stand with you. Post this request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, believing that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence and comfort in the days ahead. Keep seeking Him, trusting Him, and leaning on Him, for He is faithful. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
