Feeling lonely

We hear the ache in your heart and we join you in bringing this loneliness before the Lord together in Jesus' name. It is a painful place to be, and we want you to know that God sees you in it and He cares deeply. He does not leave us alone in our sorrow.
The Scripture reminds us that God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing Psalm 68:6. He also promises, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5. Even when we feel isolated, His presence remains with us, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We take comfort that the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18.
We also want to gently encourage you about the name through which we come to the Father. You prayed to the Lord, and we rejoice in that, and we want to remind you that it is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to God. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. When we pray in Jesus' name, we are coming through the One who died and rose again to bring us into fellowship with God and to make us part of His family. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus as Savior and Lord, and to walk with Him daily.
Loneliness often points to our deep need for genuine fellowship, and God designed us for community. A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother Proverbs 18:24. True friends are a gift from God, and we pray He will bring such genuine people into your life, people who will love at all times and speak with honesty, kindness and grace. We also encourage you to seek out fellowship among believers in a local Bible believing church where you can be known and can know others, where you can serve and be served, and where good communication can grow in the love of Christ.

Father, we lift up this dear one who is feeling lonely before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus. You know the depth of this ache and the longing for companionship and understanding. We ask You to heal the loneliness and fill this heart with the comfort of Your presence. Pour out Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Let Your perfect love cast out fear and bring healing, and teach us all to love as You have loved us, for love is of God 1 John 4:7. We ask You to bring genuine, faithful friends into this life, friends who walk in truth and love, who encourage and sharpen one another in faith. Give grace for good and open communication, with words seasoned with grace and truth, and help to build relationships that honor You. Help our friend to cast all worries on You, because You care for us 1 Peter 5:7, and to find daily strength in knowing You will never leave nor forsake Your children. Lead to a community of believers where peace and belonging can grow. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our hope and our closest friend, amen.

Your prayer concerning loneliness has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who hears the cry of the solitary heart.
There is One who knows this sorrow to its depths. Our blessed Saviour was left alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy, and He entered into that loneliness with a brave and loving spirit that no other could sustain. Because He has borne to be forsaken, He understands the ache of being friendless and He is near to comfort those who feel the want of fellowship. You are not unseen in this season. The Lord who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds watches over you even now.
We have asked the great Physician to lay His healing hand upon you. In Christ there is an abundance of healing power, not only in His great work upon the cross but in the least thing about Him, for the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. His healing changes the life blood and makes the nature new, and pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction for His people. We pray that He would grant you that inward healing which brings peace to the spirit, love to fill the void, and a renewed strength to walk with Him day by day.
We have also prayed that the Lord would in His goodness bring into your life genuine and godly friends. Plain, holy, godly living and true fellowship with the excellent of the earth are among the sweetest gifts of His providence. We ask that He would set around you sincere companions who love the Lord Jesus, who will speak the truth in love, and with whom you may enjoy good and honest communication to His glory. As you wait upon Him, seek such fellowship where Christ is taught and His Word is honored, for faith comes by hearing and the Lord delights to link His healing with His teaching.
May the Lord grant you peace that steadies the heart, love that flows from His own love shed abroad within you, and grace for wholesome communication with others. May He keep you in close communion with Himself, so that even in quiet hours you may know you are not alone, for He has said He will never leave nor forsake His own.
