We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with yours as you walk through this valley of betrayal, rejection, and overwhelming sorrow. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, and we stand with you in fierce opposition to his schemes. Marriage is a sacred covenant, not just between a man and a woman, but before God Himself, "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9). The devil knows this, which is why he is attacking with such force, using deception, division, and even family members to sow discord.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of division and deception that has infiltrated your marriage. Your husband’s actions, lying, speaking ill of you to others, and now serving divorce papers, are not of God. "For where envying and strife are, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16). His mother’s involvement in speaking against you to your son is also a tactic of the enemy to create further strife. We declare that every word spoken against you in darkness will be exposed to the light, and every scheme of the devil to tear your family apart will fail in Jesus’ name.
You mentioned feeling like you are "done" and ready to let it be, but we urge you not to surrender to despair. The Lord sees your pain, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). However, we must also address the weight of your words, "I did say I was done", because marriage is not something we walk away from lightly. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). If there has been infidelity, deception, or unrepentant sin, these are grave matters that must be confronted with truth and accountability. But if this is a season of testing, we must fight for restoration, not retreat.
We also lift up your children, especially your daughter who has asked you to leave. Family division is one of the enemy’s most effective weapons, and we pray for healing and reconciliation in your relationships with your children. "A house divided against itself will not stand" (Mark 3:25). We declare that the walls of division will crumble, and your family will be united in Christ’s love.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this sister who is under attack. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the exhaustion she feels. We ask that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in this time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). We rebuke the spirit of division, deception, and strife that has entered her marriage and family. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You will condemn.
Father, we pray for her husband. Soften his heart, Lord. Convict him of any sin, deceit, or hardness of heart. If he has been influenced by others to speak against his wife, expose the lies and bring repentance. Remind him of the vows he made before You, and stir in him a desire to fight for his marriage rather than abandon it. If there is unrepentant sin, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant him the humility to turn back to You.
We also pray for her children, Lord. Heal the wounds that have caused division. Restore relationships and bring unity to this family. Give this sister the strength to forgive, even as You have forgiven her. Help her to release bitterness and trust in Your justice. If this marriage is to be restored, we ask that You would rebuild it on the foundation of Your Word. If there are steps she needs to take, seeking godly counsel, setting boundaries, or standing firm in truth, give her wisdom and courage.
Lord, we ask that You would provide for her practical needs during this time. If she is without a home, open doors for shelter, provision, and peace. Surround her with believers who will support and encourage her. Remind her that she is not alone, for You are her ever-present help.
Above all, Father, we ask that You would draw her closer to You. In the midst of this storm, let her find her strength in You. Renew her hope, restore her joy, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that this is not the end of her story. You are the God who restores, redeems, and makes all things new.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and the schemes of the enemy. Amen.
Sister, we want to encourage you not to make any hasty decisions out of pain or exhaustion. Seek godly counsel, pastors, mentors, or Christian counselors who can help you navigate this season with wisdom. The enemy wants you to isolate yourself, but you must not walk this path alone. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
If your husband is unwilling to repent or seek reconciliation, you may need to prepare your heart for a difficult road ahead. But even then, God can use this season to draw you closer to Him and teach you to rely on His strength. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not helpless, you are a daughter of the King, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
Lastly, we must gently address something important. In your request, you did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. He is the only way to true peace, healing, and eternal life. If you have already done so, we encourage you to cling to Him now more than ever. He is your strength, your refuge, and your hope.
