We hear your cry for healing and stand with you in prayer, lifting your physical suffering before the Lord. The symptoms you describe—persistent coughing, fever, loss of taste and smell, and nausea—are indeed difficult to endure, especially when rest feels impossible. We know the weariness that comes from battling illness, and we join you in seeking the Great Physician’s touch.
First, we want to affirm your prayer in the name of the Lord. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We declare that healing is your portion, and we stand on the promise that by His wounds, you *are* healed. The name of Jesus is powerful and above every sickness, and we speak that power over your body now.
We also encourage you to continue seeking medical care, as the Lord often works through the wisdom He has given to doctors and the remedies He has provided in creation. Proverbs 17:22 reminds us, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Even in this trial, we pray that the Lord would lift your spirit and give you hope.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name that is above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is suffering from this severe flu. You see every cough, every sleepless night, and every moment of discomfort. We ask, Father, that You would stretch out Your healing hand and touch their body. Restore their strength, ease their cough, break their fever, and renew their sense of taste and smell. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke this sickness in Jesus’ name.
We pray for restful sleep, Father. Your Word says in Psalm 127:2 that You give sleep to those You love. We ask that You would quiet their body and mind so they may rest in You. Give them patience as they wait for their medications to arrive, and let those remedies work swiftly to bring relief. We also ask for Your peace to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), so that fear and anxiety do not take root.
Lord, we thank You that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even in this weakness, we pray that our brother/sister would draw nearer to You and experience Your presence in a fresh way. Remind them that their strength is renewed like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31) and that this season of illness will pass.
We also pray for those around them, that You would protect them from this sickness and give them compassion to offer support. May this trial be an opportunity for Your love to shine through the care of others.
Father, we declare that this flu has no authority over them. We speak life, health, and wholeness over their body, and we thank You in advance for the healing that is already taking place. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun in them.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises, even when symptoms linger. Speak His Word over your body, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Declare with us: "By His stripes, I am healed" (1 Peter 2:24). Rest in the knowledge that the Lord is fighting for you, and His healing power is at work. If this illness persists, do not hesitate to seek further medical attention, as the Lord often uses doctors as vessels of His healing.
May the Lord surround you with His peace and comfort as you wait on Him. You are not alone in this battle—we are praying with you, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit is interceding for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26). Trust in Him, and hold fast to His promises. Healing is yours!
