Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire to bring your family, your daily needs, your health, your safety, and your hopes for marriage before the Lord is heard, and it is right to bring everything to Him in prayer.
There is something beautiful in the way God has always worked. Even under the law, when leprosy was considered incurable and a person was set apart, God still gave a law for the day of cleansing. He made room for Himself to act. He did not box Himself in. That shows His heart to leave space for grace and for miracles if He so desires. So we should never limit what God is able to do, and we can always give Him allowance to work in ways that go beyond human expectation. When Jesus healed the leper, He told him to go and follow what Moses commanded and show himself to the priest. Even the law provided a way for grace to be recognized.
In the same way, when a king would travel, people were sent ahead to prepare the road, to straighten what was crooked and to fill the low places and bring down what was high, so the way would be ready. God prepares the way before us as well. He knows the road you walk to work and to the store, and He is able to make provision for your safety and for your daily needs. Under the law God even provided that a hungry person passing through a field could eat to be satisfied, though not to store up or sell. He cares about simple, practical needs, and He is faithful to provide what is needed for each day.
Your prayer for marriage is also close to God's heart as He designed it. Scripture speaks of marriage as two becoming one, a compound unity where two lives are joined into one. It reflects something of the very nature of God Himself. It is good to desire a faithful, lifelong marriage of one man and one woman, living together in love and commitment as God intended, with joy and faithfulness every day. We can pray that if it is His will, He will bring such a godly relationship in His timing and prepare both hearts for it.
Above all these needs, there is one provision that stands alone. God has made only one provision for sin, and that is the blood of Jesus Christ His Son. There is no other way for sin to be atoned for. The blood of Jesus is not a formula to claim objects or to demand a hundredfold return, but it is the holy sacrifice given so that we can be forgiven, cleansed, and brought back to God. To believe in Him is to receive life. To turn away from Him is to remain under condemnation, because light has come into the world. The greatest favor we can ever know is to be reconciled to God through Jesus.
So my prayer for you and your family is that you would know that greatest favor first, that you would trust fully in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and for new life in Him. And in that place of trust, I pray that the Lord in His grace would watch over you as you walk, keep you safe, meet your daily needs, bring healing according to His will, and if it is His good plan, provide a godly marriage that honors Him. I pray He would prepare the way before you and make straight what now feels crooked or uncertain, and that you would find contentment and joy in whatever He provides, even in small things, knowing that He sees and cares.
May the Lord draw you closer to Himself and answer according to His perfect wisdom and love.
