We join with you in bringing your family and every need you have mentioned before the Lord, and we thank you for invoking the name and blood of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is by His blood that we have redemption and forgiveness. Ephesians 1:7 and John 14:6 remind us that there is no other way to the Father except through Christ.

We hear your deep desire for favor, safety, provision, healing, daily companionship in marriage, and even the simple desire for a working VHS player, and we know God cares about both the great and the small details of our lives. At the same time we want to lovingly correct an idea that we can speak life into existence or demand a hundredfold return as if we command God. Only God speaks creation into existence, Genesis 1:3, and we are called to pray according to His will, not to decree our own will over Him. 1 John 5:14 says if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And James 4:3 warns that we ask and do not receive when we ask with wrong motives. Biblical favor is not a formula we claim greatly for ourselves, it is grace and blessing that God gives as He wills, Psalm 5:12 and Psalm 84:11, and true contentment and provision come as we seek Him first, Matthew 6:33.

We also hear your desire to be married and to have your man by your side every day in happiness. We strongly affirm God's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, Genesis 2:24, and we pray for a godly marriage that honors Him. We encourage you to pursue this not as simply finding a partner or living together day by day, but as courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, for 2 Corinthians 6:14 calls us not to be unequally yoked, and Hebrews 13:4 calls us to let marriage be held in honor and to keep the marriage bed undefiled. This means saving sexual intimacy for within that marriage covenant, for sex outside marriage is fornication and dishonors the Lord, and God desires purity and faithfulness in our relationships as we wait for His provision of a godly husband.

We lift up your needs for safe travel as you walk to work and to the store, for groceries and daily provision, and for healing. We trust the promise that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and that the Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, Psalm 121:8. We trust Him also for healing, for He says I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, Jeremiah 30:17, and by his wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5, while also trusting His perfect timing and will. Proverbs 3:5-6 calls us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by His shed blood. We lift up this dear one and her family to You and ask that You would let Your favor and grace rest upon them according to Your will. Provide for every need, food, safe travel whether walking or riding, protection on the roads and sidewalks, and daily bread. Touch her body and bring healing where needed, comfort and strength to her family, and draw each one closer to salvation in Christ. Lead her to a godly Christian husband if it is Your will, a man who loves You first and will love her as Christ loves the church, and help her to walk in purity and wisdom during courtship, keeping marriage holy and centered on You. Grant her joy and peace that surpasses understanding, Philippians 4:7, as she trusts You rather than demanding, and help her to delight herself in You, Psalm 37:4. Even in the small desire of her heart for a working VHS player, show Your kindness, and teach her contentment and stewardship in all things. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We hear the deep longing in your words for life to feel full and secure again, for your family to be cared for, for safety as you walk to work and to the store, and for companionship and joy in marriage. Those are good and human desires, and we are honored you shared them so openly with us.

We are praying with you for God's steady care over each of those areas. We ask Him to provide for your daily needs, to keep you safe on the road and on foot, and to guide you with wisdom and peace as you think about the future and about marriage.

One small step that sometimes helps when safety and transportation feel uncertain is to let one or two trusted people nearby know your regular routes and times, a coworker, a neighbor, or someone at church, so you are not carrying the worry alone and can look together for the safest options available. You do not have to sort all of this at once.

Father, we bring our friend and their family to You in Jesus' name. Cover them with Your protection as they walk and travel, meet their daily needs according to Your kindness, and lead them in Your perfect timing and will for companionship. Give them peace today, assurance that You see them, and hope for each next step. Amen.

Your cries have been heard and we have carried them before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to deal with you according to His mercy and wisdom and not according to our own prescriptions.

We must gently remind you that Divine Providence is not put under our supervision, nor is the blood of Jesus a phrase to claim things into existence by our own will. The true favor of God is far greater than safe travel or daily provisions alone, though He does care for these things. It is this, that to as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God. Our Lord Jesus has risen from the dead and lives to plead for His people, and His merits are a sweet savor in the nostrils of the Most High. It is through that pleading, not through demanding a hundredfold by our words, that we have confidence to approach our Father.

We have prayed for you and your family in this way. We have asked our Covenant God, who keeps His people night and day and neither slumbers nor sleeps, to keep you in safety as you walk to work and to the store, and to supply your needs according to His riches in Christ. We have asked Him to lay His healing hand upon you if it be His will, and to give you contentment and trust in His sovereign goodness whether the answer comes at once or calls you to wait upon Him. We have prayed that He who knows your frame would provide for you day by day, even in small things, and teach you to receive all things with thanksgiving.

Concerning marriage, we have prayed that if it be the Lord's will for you, He would in His perfect time bring you into holy matrimony as He has ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered into in purity and kept in faithfulness, that you might know the comfort and holiness of that estate and live together to the glory of Christ. We do not ask God to bless mere living together apart from that covenant, for sex and dwelling together belong within marriage alone, but we do ask that He would make you ready for whatever calling He has for you, and keep you chaste and hopeful in the waiting.

Seek first the favor which is already yours if you are in Christ, the favor of adoption, of pardon, of being kept by Divine Grace. If you are seeking a great favor from God, pray whether you get it or not, right on, pleading the blood of Jesus not as an incantation but as the ground of your acceptance, and say, my soul, wait. He will thrust out your enemies before you and clear the way as you follow where He leads, and He will give you what is best, for none but a generous Lawgiver delights to show mercy to His children.
