Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your cry has been heard, and we are praying for you and for your family and friends in this overwhelming season of fatigue, anxiety and helplessness.
Scripture knows how anxiety can overwhelm the soul like a great billow swelling against a small boat, and how thorns of worry can choke the good word God wants to plant in us. Anxiety disfigures and wearies us, but God offers a different beauty and strength, one that does not wither with worry or age, but remains ever fresh in Christ. He invites us to root out those thorns and to give the soil of our hearts a little rest, so that His word can take deep root with full power.
We pray that He will lift this heavy burden from you and free you from the anxieties that press on every side. The Lord Jesus promised to tell His people what is to come, so that we would not meet trials without warning, and to establish us in security and liberty. He knows your weariness and He calls the weary to come to Him for rest.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, have mercy on this dear one who is tired and anxious and feels helpless. You see every aspect of life that feels overwhelming right now. Grant rest to the body, peace to the mind, and strength to the heart. Cast out fear and quiet anxiety with Your perfect love and presence. Lay Your hand upon family and friends also, and keep them in Your care. Help Your word to grow unchoked in this life, and teach this heart to cast every care upon You, for You care deeply. Lead step by step, give wisdom for each need, and let Your peace which passes understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and hope. Amen.
